Absolutely. Very positive day for the game. The crowd was heated, the crowd must have gone away entertained, and now they're riding high. Coach has done a terrific job in recent months.

The same Salford who were given a chanted send off the year they were relegated at the halton stadium? I don't think any criticism levelled at them is worth mentioning any more than the bickering you level at wakefield, or Saints level at Wigan, or Leigh level at us. What do you want? A medal?

Well they are and they aren't. They are because we've never had a SL club in the south of france before, and because their presence is an attempt to spread the game. But we weren't taking a punt on them. Part of their success, well, most of it, is because rugby league is down there already. We were taking advantage of what was already there. The risk wasn't there, and I fail to see why anyone would begrudge their continued success.

I'm sorry Chris, I know you and your brother have always supported the Dragons but the majority of Widnes fans that I've met and come across have always had a massive chip on their shoulder about them, more so than any other club.

Anyone else think that Trent Robinson should be given the France job before the RLWC with him knowing the players of 90% of the team and being fluent in the language? Considering the turnaround he's made at Catalans I think it's an obvious choice.

No, there should be as much seperation between Catalans and the French national side as possible. Same with Crusaders and Wales.

I get what you're saying, but for the short term I think Trent Robinson would surely do a better job than Bobby Goulding.

Why so? Shouldn't the two go hand in hand for the time being? Especially in Wales?

I think 'for the time being' is the right call, until more French/Welsh coaches and players come through the pro setups i'd try and keep a close affinity between club and nations.
