| excellent draw for leeds.
either they knock out a rival or go out straight away and can focus completley on winning a 4th in a row.

| How does this free ticket lark work can anyone remember what Red Hall stated when the started this ?
I thought that the clubs still had to pay for the tickets ( issued for the cup game ) into the pot. Otherwise the smaller clubs could lose a small fortune covering policing costs etc and getting very little to no revenue at all in. Bradford at Dewsbury is one such tie as is Wigan at Sheffield.

That's pretty much the case, as I understand it. Apparently, travel costs aren't covered in the Challenge Cup so we stand to lose a fortune with playing away to Limoux. Still, not complaining, though going over there two weeks after returning from Toulouse might cost a bit!

That situation is the same for any title challenger that draws a fellow rival.
Last year leeds drew saints.
Leeds lost.

This must be the first (well, second after yesterday, I suppose) case where an away draw has disadvantaged a team by virtue of the fact that two of their best players aren't allowed to visit the other teams ground?

| Hull v Leeds.
With admission for season ticket holders included for this game, whats the betting that the attendance for this will be the biggest for the CC outside of the final this season?

should be a sell out no probs.
Leeds -v- Saints last year at the same stage was pretty much a sell out I think.

Yep, has potential to draw a massive crowd.
I'm really pleased we drew Hull actually - looking at the fixtures and seeing our trip to the KC was the final game of the season (with probably league positions already sorted) was a bit of a shame - so glad we get to go there when it means something!
Worth noting we play Hull at home the week before too - could make it interesting.

fully agree....interviews with people in the middle of the draw too.
I think Graham West was in a rush to get home - shouting out the away team name whilst Dave Woods was still talking about the home team.

| Think the BBC wanted to get it over with ASAP so they could get back to talking about football back in London. It was certainly rushed for one reason or another.

If both clubs marketing teams are on the ball it could easily be an 18000plus gate. 9000 season ticket holders for Hull, Leeds fans in for free (season ticket holders that is) this will probably be limited to the north stand which holds 4000.
You are right about the league game the week before.
If I had to choose one over the other, I'd rather have the 2 points in the bag in all honesty.

Which shows one of the limitations on the free entry with season tickets scheme - I'm not suggesting Leeds would routinely take 4,000 away fans to Hull, but in theory every season ticket holder for both clubs is entitled to a ticket for this game.
How many fans will the Bulls be confident of taking to Dewsbury, and how many people does the ground have a safety certificate for?

I imagine there are the usual "subject to conditions and availability" get outs.

These kind of things are always subject to terms & conditions though, so no not every season ticket holder is "entitled" to a ticket for the game. There will be something in the terms & conditions about limitations, first come first served, etc. otherwise a ground with 3,500 would legally not be allowed to hold the Bradford vs Dewsbury game.
There will be a limit of 4,000 (the North Stand) for the Leeds game most likely, unless they manage to ship them within very quickly. If the North Stand sold out with 2 weeks to go for example, I can't see why they wouldn't open the upper West. Doubt they'll fill the North Stand though to be honest.
