Not completely true, the main out going of the club, the players wages, were fully paid every month. Same can't be said for the coaching staff and back office staff who've been working for free. Kopczak's move is a slap in the face to them and to the club that brought him up in the game. And I hope the club who induced him to take this move never have to go through a similar situation to Bradford as I don't think the absorption of a club from Sheffield will save them that time

I think you might be missing the point here.

You CANNOT in any circumstances talk to players under contract at any club without the permission of the club who the player is registered to!

In this case, it's believed (according to the T&A reports) that a 'club' has spoken to Kopczak without speaking to the Bulls first. He was under contract. I highly doubt the TUPE would have been rejected had he not been tapped up.

Also, 'You deserved it' - wow. I imagine you might not be saying that in the next few years if the rumours of Davy pulling his funds out due to getting fed up with a lack of crowd is true.

No, OK Bulls is a Newco, not the previous company of Bradford Bulls. Kopczak objected (as he has a right to) to his contract being transferred from the previous company to the new one. Existing law (as applied to the Rangers soccer players) seems to support him.

1. Didnt the RFL tell the players they were free to look for other clubs - not withstanding the clubs agreement to tap players up...I think you'll find they did. So your first point is out of the water

2. Yes I am sure a club has spoken to him, that is not the same as a club tapping him up.

3. A spectacular amount of wishful thinking there by a lot of people.

4. You still deserved it, should pay your players more often.

shaun mcrea said on local radio that the only players clubs were allowed to approach and talk to were the 17 bradford players out of contract at the end of the season, ALL the clubs(except 1 it seems) agreed not to approach any players under contract until the situation at the bulls was resolved! it could be that hudds did make an approach to kopzack before the takeover was complete as posters on their forum claimed he had agreed a deal with giants a month or so ago......................................

the realistic view is, and mcrae mentioned this was that the players agents who were contracted beyond this season have been offering their players to other SL clubs trying to get them better deals

1) I think you'll find the RFL told players they were free to look for other clubs providing they weren't under contract. You'll also see that the RFL said that contracted players were told to find other clubs only IF the SLE bid went through.

2) This means Kopczak was potentially tapped up. I guess the lawyers will sort that out. He was still under contract, which at least 1 club approaching him.

4) All players were payed on time. Sure, they were paid by the RFL out of a centralised fund which just means the Bulls will take a hit on money on future sponsorship/TV money. Therefore, the Bulls still paid their players on time.

Anyway, keep grasping at straw.
