on that showing last night Leeds will stay up, not pretty but they got the job done but i did get a bit fed up with the stripping and mauling through the game, they are a team that needs to show some grunt and they did,
that brain fart of Edens could of been a brilliant game changer had it connected but alas it seal their fate

I agree, it was risky, but cas were chasing the game and needed something risky to get around a stern leeds defense.

There was more stripping and mauling from Cas particulery Mcshane, but that seemed to just get ignored, just like the outrageous forward pass for there first try. Outrageous penalty count against leeds which Cas were allowed to get away with.

Powell pretty much straight away mentioning losing Trueman to injury. Christ can the guy give an interview not mentions injuries?

Another way of looking at it would be Salford and Hull KR taking Cas Tigers and Hull FC's lead and refuse cash/player deals with the Rhino's thus not helping out a rival club ?

They interviewed him before the game. Asked him about his new contract and he mentioned injuries within 10 seconds!!

Nah McShane was fine at Leeds, must’ve been whatever club he spent time with before moving to Cas.

Has happened a lot this year. Leeds have been heavily penalised throughout the season and yes they’ve throughly deserved to be as the discipline has been poor but our opponents have been getting away with the same stuff in games week in week out against us. People certainly can’t say Leeds have the refs or RFL in their pockets this season if you’ve seen our games.

Don’t you have to at least move forward to get an advantage, just passing it sideways isn’t really an advantage. If Leeds had travelled 10/20m forwards from where McMeeken knocked on then thrown the intercept then it’d be play on.

Advantage was changed about 5-6 seasons ago to free okay and was never changed back, and not likely to be.

The free play was abolished last season. The only reason I can see why that try was disallowed was because the ref missed the original knock on. Either way, it should have been given as a try. Totally contradictory to the new rule.

I would argue it's down to interpretation though. They're attacking the line; advantage was over. If lui got tackled, it would have been zero tackle not a scrum

For example, is the free play still a free play as long as you play lateral. It needs clearing up.

I was under the impression the free play had been abolished. How long does the advantage rule go on for? I thought it was after a pass. At least it was during my amateur days

I must admit i can't remember if Leeds went past the advantage line after McMeekin knocked on,therefore if he didn't the decision was the correct one.

Just had a look back, McMeeken knocks on on the 10m line and Lui passes and Eden intercepts on the 10m line. Leeds never advanced so right call.

I actually think it’s why Lui took the risk and went for the big pass knowing it’d be called back if it went wrong.

If it was that close,maybe it was worth a look with the VR.

The bigger question is why a top level ref like Ben Thaler missed the blatant knock in in the first place, fact us he either missed it or played the advantage, if its the latter it's the right call, if its the former he needs dropping to league one for a few week,

That and the complete disregard for player welfare.

Watts was hit late, very late and high! No penalty given but the match review panel deem it worthy of a ban.

Thaler shouldn't be allowed to referee until this is ironed out.

What I will say is when refereeing well, Thaler is the best one in SL however he often has games where he needs to be the centre of attention as he did Friday, some shocking calls for both teams.

Don't think he missed it because he reset the tackle count. It's more likely he was just using the video ref to confirm everything, although I did find it odd that the decision was sent up as a try if that was the case.

So the free play still exists if you dont go over the advantage line? I thought it was after the ball had been passed. My bad
