You act with the same lack of class yourself. It's not the worst crime in the world, but it's just embarrasing and puts your club in a bad light.

Oh FFS give it a rest.
I suspect, like many other professional sports clubs, players, coaches and fans, Ryan Bailey enjoys being a winner much more than he enjoys being popular.
Perhaps he could offer Jon Wilkin a few pointers on the former?

Listening to it, it sound svery much like he almost described bailey as something much less flattering and then stopped himself .

| The thing with Wilkin is that he does a lot of development and promotion work bringing kids into the Rugby League game, not sure if it was last year or the year before he won some kind of cooperative award for encouraging the kids in the community to come into the game. So when he sees this kind of behaviour bullying young and smaller players it must unfold all the work he is trying to achieve.
The incident at the Grand Final happened when the game had finished, the battle was over, respect is shown to the opposition and the winners celebrate there achievement. For Bailey NO he had to carry on goad, whoop up, threaten the young opposition players who were already deflated by the hard work resulting in defeat,
Same thing happened at Warrington in the Semi Final, he was even goading and jesturing to the crowd, after the game was over. Same thing against Wigan bullying a young player after the Challenge Cup Final, the young player wasn,t even in the first team he was an acadamy player.
So who would you prefer Wilkin putting something back into the game and encouraging young players to take up the game or Bailey (who jokes about the thousands of dead killed in the japanese earhquake) who bullies the smaller and younger players as a gesture to being a "big man", after the game of course.

| I've now got a lot of respect for Wilkin.
The only reason I wanted Saints to win the Grand Final (apart from family in St Helens) was Bailey. He's a dirty cheat who always seems to be stirring trouble both on and off the pitch.
Bet the England camp will be lively

Just listened to this on-line and I think Wilkin comes across OK and not too bitter. The problem is though that winning a game of Rugby League is not dependent on being a decent human being... like any walk of life and any sport, we will have some decent blokes in RL just as we will have some idiots. Ryan Bailey falls squarely into the second category and I wouldn’t entertain him as a person but he makes a pretty good pantomime villain for our sport

if you're just repeating a story you've read elsewhere then you're a bigger tool than Wilkin.

As much as I cant stand Bailey like the majority of people, I think we need the od d1ckhead/villain in the game like him and cockane etc.. because its great when they get whats coming to them ie scully, radford..
No matter whos playing im passionate about england winning against OZ but soon as bailey gets the ball I want to see him get smashed

| Bailey obviously really annoys opponents. McNamara has alluded to the fact that its exactly that characteristic which has led to him being selected for England (he also mentions the fact that once you get to know such players they're not all that bad).
Anyway, I look forward to next year when Bailey will no doubt be 'sorted out' by SL's 'genuine' hard men. As was supposed to happen this year. And last year. And the year before....
What McNamara needs to do in any event is exactly what Tony Smith didn't - get players from all the clubs mixing. No cliques.

Kind of hard to get sorted when you start the aggro then run behind teammates as Bailey tends to do.
He's a pr*ck of the highest order, surely you can see that?

| Sorry WarriorWithin, but Bailey IS a prop isn't he? His job is to take the ball in. Not hard at all for someone who wanted to to make sure they get into the general area when he's tackled and throw a punch. I have seen this happen. Just not to Bailey.
I can see how Bailey is annoying to opponents and opposition fans alike. Personally, I've never met the guy and am in no position to judge what he's like off the field. Have you?

Why doesn't somebody absolutely smash him? Like Mozza on Hansen. Like Kidwell on Mason. You get the idea. As already mentioned he is a prop, its not hard to lay down the marker, only nobody has actually done it yet

I have no problems with his attitude in terms taking the ball in hard and being aggressive because as u say thats his job. It's his taunting/threating young players after winning/losing games.
He might be a top guy off the field although it's not what i've heard. I can't judge that either as i've never met him personally. All i can go off is even his own players feel the need to rein him in half the time. he's an embarrassment.
There's simply no need for it.
And as for why he hasn't been smashed, well Radford gave him a good hiding but it is weird that no one has really put the big hits on him which i think people are crying out for him to get. Maybe it's just a matter of time, who knows.

Because he hides. Ryan Bailey's average stats will see very few hitups and very few metres. He's always third or fourth in the tackle as well.
Classic example is when he did his high shot on Maurie Fa'asavalu at Knowsley Road. Graham was hell bent on destroying him, the red mist had well and truly descended, yet Bailey hid in the centres and didn't take any runs up the middle with the ball after it.
This idea that Bailey is a hard man prop is just wrong. He's a wind up merchant and he does that very well, but he's not a good player and he hasn't got it in him to be an enforcer like the childish element of the Leeds support believe either.
Most normal Leeds fans admit he's a fool and plenty have said his antics are an embarassment to the likes of Sinfield, Burrow, Peacock etc who win without the need to act like they are in primary school.

you know for a fact that he goes threatening players after matches do you or did you just read it on a forum like the other div on this thread and believe it to be true?
Where's hardman Radford now btw? seems to have gone missing since the last Leeds/Hull match.

You know as well as anyone else who saw that game that you're talking bo11ocks. Bailey actually ran across the field on the very next play to make sure he ran at the FGB who did absolutely nothing apart come in as a cowardly 3rd man into Bailey's back later in the match.

I know the the young Wigan player that he threatened after Wembley and he told me, so yeah i know.
Radford gave Bailey a hiding and it was clear to see. He's now retired and is joining the Hull coaching staff.
