What planet do you live on?
In order to do that they would need to get close on 20,000 for ALL their remaining league games.

It didn't exactly take a brain surgeon did it.
It's alright though because Wigan and Warrington aren't actually THAT good so it could well be the same two as ever come the end of the year.

| Leeds are still head and shoulders the best team in this competition.
It's just the standard across the board is catching up and whereas a few years ago LEE/STS could go into games half baked and pick up wins, now they can't.
When it comes to crunch time though, I know who my money's on.

But they would still need to get around 20,000 for each of their remaining games. If any drops below that figure then others would have to be above.
Come the end of the season, Wigan will have an average approaching 14,000 and no more I guarantee you that. Leeds will have a very similar figure.

Your openning comment is factually incorrect (see the current league table)
You then proceed to contradict your openning statement by saying other teams have caught up.
Make your mind up.

| Teams are catching up, Leeds are still the best team by a distance, it's not that hard to grasp.
Looking at the league table would suggest to me Leeds are a team with very large injury problems. Having seen Wigan three times this year, I personally feel they're playing above themselves and certainly aren't the standard of Leeds.
Time will tell.

You do know how to work out averages don't you?
Let me make it simple. In order for Wigan to hit a 14,000 average for the season from where we are now, every single game game they play now at home will need to be above 14,100. Thats every single game. If any drop below then another would have to be above.
I repeat, to hit what you said (18,000), every single game they play at home now will have to be 20,000 per game.

ill remind you at the end of the season when their average is well above it
as i said before, theyve had clubs with hardly any away fans and have a current average of 13,300 odd.
if form maintains its going to climb a lot
why does this upset you so much?

If its 13,300 then the 14,100 per game just went up. You earlier said it was 13,500.
You can come back end of season, but it simply will not be possible that Wigan will achieve a 18,000 average for the season now. They will not get over 20,000 for every game now.
They will not even hit the 14,000. I accept some gates will be much higher than they have had so far, but when talking averages they will not make such a huge difference.

I think they might hit the 14k, but I agree with you that 18k this season is more than a bit weird.

| It's pretty simple: to average 18,000 for the season, they need 234,000 through the gates in total. So far, from four games, they've had 53155. That means they need 180845 from the remaining 9 games, which is an average of 20094. No chance.

Maths and attendances still not your strong point I see.
They're at 13,289 average now. 53,155 aggregate.
14,000 average means they need 182,000 aggregate.
To do that, they need 128,845 more people through the gate (an average of 14,316 every game until the end of the season).
15,000 average means they need 195,000 aggregate.
To do that, they need 141,845 more people through the gate (an average of 15,760 every game until the end of the season).
18,000 average means they need 234,000 aggregate.
To do that, they need 180,845 more people through the gate (an average of 20,093 every game until the end of the season).
14k is likely.
15k is possible, despite not hitting 15,760 once this season. If they get 25k against Saints and Wire (the "Big One"icon_wink.gif, they only need to average 13,121 from the rest of the games.
18k is next to impossible. The only games they'll get above 20k are against Saints and Wire. Leeds might come close tonight, but apart from that, the rest will struggle to hit 14k, let alone 20k.
Once you grasp how averages work Dally, you'll understand the stupidity of your statement.

Word on the Wigan board, over 17,000 sold for tonight by 9.30 this morning
