| He tackled the player without the ball 3 meters from the line, of course it was a sin bin regardless of how close the timing was.

Apart from them letting Sydney off with their trainer being on the pitch who stopped a charge down going down field and then giving Sydney the scrum which they scored off the back of; and the refs waving for a new set and Canberra playing as if it was tackle1 and Sydney being given the turnover which they scored off the back of!
But Canberra only really had one superstar (Whiteon) who looked like he could really do something special to unlock the Sydney defence. He’s an exceptional player but Canberra just didn’t have anyone else at his level.

Australians really need to increase their vocabulary

Did they also say 'listen' at the start of every sentence? Hate that.

They start every sentence with this weird noise “ooooooorrrrrrrrrrr” n’all. It’s like a cross between a cow, a sheep and a motorbike.

| Thought Raiders were the better team overall by distance bar the opening 10 minutes.just couldn't quite find the play to break the roosters who defended brilliantly . Awful call on the 6 to go, but game breaking play from the roosters on the next set to win it.
Really absorbing final i enjoyed it.

| Brilliant late try by the Roosters backs -- Luke Keary, to centre Latrell Mitchell who gave a brilliant one handed pass on to winger Dàniel Tupou, who ràn well before sending a beautiful pass inside to the ever present full back James Tedesco, who scored.
What a shame the Roosters victory was tainted by the earlier blunder by the referee Ben Cummins.

| Feel for Canberra.
The first Roosters try came from a set they got because the ball hit one of their own trainers on the last tackle, for which the got another set. Something very wrong about that rule, even if it’s technically the right decision. I thought that had changed a couple f years ago to stop attacking teams putting a kick near the referee, hoping for another set. If it’s on the last, I thought the ball went to the defending team.
Even worse referring for the second Roosters try. Referees will all get decisions wrong, but they can’t change their mind in-play when they have already made a decision and communicated it to the players. In this case, the referee clearly called and signalled for another 6 tackles to the Raiders and this was seen by the player who allowed himself to be tackled to set up the next set. For the referee to then say it was the last tackle and give the ball to the Roosters was awful. Unsurprisingly, the Roosters scored from that possession.
Both Roosters tries have massive question marks over them. Which is a shame.

Far too much leeway was given at the PTB. Refs seemed like they was told to allow things slide rather than calling penalty.

| The second Roosters try was a brilliantly executed attacking movement, started by Australian representative five eighth Luke Keary, and featuring a brilliant one handed pass by New South Wales State of Origin centre, and Dally M centre of 2019, Latrell Mitchell, which put Tongan international winger Daniel Tupou into the clear, and after racing 30 metres down the left flank, a lovely pass infield to the ever present Italian international and Dally M Medal of 2019 full back James Tedesco.

It was however off the back of a hugely incompetent refereeing mistake. Sydney shouldn’t have had the ball in that set.

| There you go - for everyone who claims that the NRL is the paragon of officiating, two howlers that have directly affected the outcome of a massive game. Not a good look.

Yep.
Though maybe time for the sport to look again at trainers etc on the pitch. At one point a trainer for Sydney was on the pitch for an entire set.
Also at the “injuries” when a goal line drop out or attacking scrum is about to take place.
Unfortunately we’re at the stage where we can’t trust the players morality (I make no judgement on whether that’s a bad thing or not) in terms of faking injuries. So maybe we should follow footballs example to a degree. If play is stopped and a player requires treatment that delays the restart of play then maybe they should have to go off the field and miss the next set before they can come back on. Might deter some of the fake injuries we see at drop outs especially.
