| Salford have shown what can be achieved on a small budget and all credit to them. It may fall apart by next season with so many players getting off but they can just enjoy the current ride.
I don't see many of their fans or players demanding to be taken serious an established top club like others I could mention and they took care of Cas with ease tonight.
But surely their fans have better chants than constant rehashes of crap songs from yesterdays football club Man Utd!
They'll go in as underdogs but Salford have real momentum right now so Wigan or St Helens have a job on their hands next week to get past them and make the GF.

| We were lucky to get this far to be fair. Probably didn't deserve it over the season.
Salford on the other hand. I hope they go on to do 1 better than we did in 2017. It's great to see the underdog going well and that's what they are doing.
Ian Watson deserves coach of the year without doubt. He has a team of average players with a couple of good ones playing really well.
Good luck Salford!! Hope you make it to OT and win.

| Can anyone explain to me why Evaulds seemed to be running slowly until he got to him? Genuinely, I've watched it live and on replays and can't work out why he looks slower than the Cas player but gets to him. Can't decide whether it's the angle, their respective running styles or something else.

Here's another which is played over and over from the 2003 NRL Grand Final when Penrith beat the Roosters for their first GF win. The Evalds one will live in memory too!
PS I am a Penrith supporter.

| I’ve always said that Jackson Hastings is a very clever individual. He confirmed this by declaring Jonny Lomax the best player in SL by some distance

I think it may just be the angle, though John Wells said that Evalds had deliberately shepherded him so as to stop him thinking of cutting back inside. This could be the reason why he looked slower initially.

| Proud as punch just goes to show what you can do with nowt with the right people at the club.
And I must point out what a fantastic reception Leeds Rhinos Robert Lui got when he came over to the fans at half time a fantastic send off from the fans to the "Star Man"

| It's a free hit for Salford next week, no pressure on them at all which makes them very dangerous. Should they progress the same applies in the final. Good luck, go and enjoy it.

We love Lui at Salford as he was a great pro and a cracking player. Pretty sure we were all sad to see him leave but as it turns out it may well have been the best move for both parties. Financially the club and Lui benefitted and Lolohea also seems to have had a new lease of life.
Shame Lui hasn't been able to share in some of this current success but he's definitely contributed to where this team is today.

It was a joke. Now that the team is doing well you finally have a set of fans that turn up and make an atmosphere.
I was only saying the the team winning is making everyone around Salford happy you spoon.
Im really rooting for you to go all the way this year but then there are people like you who think you can be smart and clever now you are going on a little run. Enjoy it while it lasts because it will be a 1 year hit for you.

| it may well be a 1 year flash in the pan season for them but credit where it's due, they managed to sign Hastings when there were a few other clubs after him too. To have another year at the top half of the table they need to find another Hastings!

I was of the impression Jacko was soiled goods, as he said 19 consecutive days of him on the back page in Sydneys biggest paper. and when no one would go near him Salford came along and gave the "bad boy" a chance, which resulted in him repaying us with a year of his career.
Your right we probably need another Jacko absolutely gutted the pies cheque book takes him next season but still hope the NRL calls him back.

There is always a chance of a return to OZ and if he keeps on setting SL alight, then, he may well end up back over there.
You have to say that Salford have had some excellent signings over the past few seasons and while they seem to have to sell, someone at Salford is doing a great job of getting them over here. Lui, Murdoch Masilla and Hastings jump to mind but, there have been plenty of others.
There is always a risk with overseas players not bringing their form with them or not settling, just ask Catalan but, Salford appear to be doing very well with their overseas signings.
The main difficulty is to keep finding that calibre of player.

Good point that.
You can add Lussick and turning around Lolohea after languishing in the doldrums of Leeds. I think what is key for Salford in finding players that settle is that Watson and Blease will only try and sign players if they will fit into the ethos and work ethic of the current group. They wont get it right every time but their record over the last few years speaks for itself.
I don't think it'll be long before Hastings is back in Oz. He's turned his life around, matured, and is playing good stuff. A MOS wont do him any harm either. Be interesting to see who comes in for him, because there's a few sides crying out for a natural HB.

Watson and his staff are doing a tremendous job over there and if there is any justice Watson should be getting the coach of the year gong.
Getting Salford into the semi finals and possibly beyond is one hell of an achievement, especially as most pundits had them as bottom 3 finishers, with the possibility of them being relegated.
Most neutrals, while happy to see a Wigan v Saints GF, will be rooting for Salford this weekend and I hope that the fans, especially those that have seen the ups and downs are enjoying the ride.
I wonder what MarwanK thinks of it all and whether he regrets his interference and not letting the players and coaching staff get on with the job.
Good luck this weekend.

| I think what Watson has done with numpties like Mossop has should not be ignored. IMO he has always been an overrated lump of Cumbrian lard, but Watson has undeniably improved him. Same with Jones.

where have I slagged Salford off? I said there must be something in the air that must be making everyone in Salford good. thats a compliment...... in recent years you have had no fans and your team has been under performing. You clearly read my message wrong. Its a complment saying you are playing much better and fans are all in a good mood and turning up.
So dont have to get a grip thanks
