| He's alright.
Gets up a few noses on here.
I find him amusing...even if full of it.
I missed him all last week.

If you go into the users Profile and then click Add Foe it will hide posts from that poster for you.
And they don’t even know they’ve been blocked by you.

| Quote ="Or thane"Theres no extra lbs on him to lose, but he'll still be over 16st if he loses 7-10lbs. I think as a centre with his speed and power from what i've seen he's gonna cause the opposition a lot of problems. I thought his signing was bizzarre when first announced, but seeing him in action and that he's not on the cap next year either is such a smart move and could be an amazing signing for us. I'm excited to see him in action finally
'"
Back on topic, it will be interesting to see him in P&B. Until then, it's all conjecture.

| To suggest he’s going to a full international by the end of next season doesn’t say much about the state of English RL centres.
He might not need to lose weight but he will need conditioning. Union players are a different shape and on average bigger men. Which isn’t an issue with a more stop start game.
Whatever happens we can’t judge him this season. He will play the odd game to get his belly wet.
Fingers crossed it works out. Would be good for the game to have cross code converts coming the other way.

| I really hope it works out for Burrell but hes got a lot of work to do.
Goodwin has been simply phenomenal in the last 2 games - unfortunately that'll be because hes sorted out his future back in Oz.
Bryson is incredibly strong and has really good skills.
Potentially losing Atkins as well - who is still a very good centre.
So we have King and Burrell with maybe Mamo able to cover.
If Burrell struggles then .......
He's bound to make mistakes. I just hope he's mentally strong enough to take that on board (and the undoubted criticism he'll receive on forums....)

Well, it's not unbelievable. SP has been impressed with him for a few weeks now, and at some point he is going to have to play the game to pick up the knowledge and experience. The sooner that happens the better prepared he will be for the business end of the season. Off the bench perhaps ?

| ....what better to throw him straight in at the deep end?
Also gives us the one up, being prepared to do something that Saints dare not...it's a win win.
It comes off he's hailed...it doesn't...he's progressing.

| Happy for him to be thrown in. We'll only be able to tell if he can help us at the business end of the season if we play him.

| I’m all for giving him a go, but is a game likely to be played at an intense speed the one to do it in?
Then there is the issue of penalties coming from not knowing the niceties of the game and finally who would you drop, and why?

All valid points but he would have obviously been working on this in training, so Price must think he's ready.
Maybe off the bench? He's big enough to do minutes up the middle.

The guy is a season plus match fit and an ex England international.
He ought to be body ready...
The question of lack of fitness has never been an issue out of the club...only line structure mainly for defence.

Some of us were saying that about Thewlis against Catalan.

It's quite an exciting prospect but neither can I Shaz Lineham's back I think, so if Mamo isn't injured I'd expect a straight swap with Johnson. Goodwin and King stay at centre and Charnley on the other flank. I'm not sure when he can contractually play Longbarn is usually spot on, but, in any event is this the game to have him as bench option?

I thought the same, but why would he be training with the squad for free? He must be being paid for this month.
I presumed the 1st July thing was about only having half a year taken up by the salary cap exemption, therefore we can't play him until then.
Maybe we have received clarification about his eligibility?

| I can't see this happening but you never know. Would be interesting to see what he could do though. But there is the risk that if it goes a bit wrong it might knock his confidence and set him back a bit. I definately wouldn't throw him in to a saints game for his first one.

Unfortunately, its nothing ive heard. Its just what ive read. As for him training already, of course he will be getting paid.....he doesnt count on cap anyway does it? So thats upto the club. Think the 1st of July relates to his registration, so surely from that date, hes available. Just wondering whether its a technicality, or will the RFL will need to give it the rubber stamp?
Either way, with Livett out on loan, i personally think SP will name him in the squad and get him in and around the matchday squad and then leave him as 18th/19th man.

From what I remember there was talk at an interview of him getting an early release from his contract at Northampton once they err out of the play offs, something along that line anyways.

You could be right and we will know soon enough. Also and my memory might be playing tricks, or he might be playing them but didn't he say something along the lines of I 'can't wait to get started and have the chance of facing Saints'on a recent SL show??

I thought he didn't count of the cap for 18 months, but that's technically wrong.
Any eligible player signed after 1st Feb doesn't count on the cap for that year, and the following year. With 50% the year after.
So he's free to play without the club having to worry about future cap space.
Guessing he was meant to be registered from 1st July but with him leaving Northampton a little earlier, he was registered a little earlier? Just a guess.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing him out there but agree that no centres deserve to be dropped.
For those as sad as me, regulations here: https://www.rugby-league.com/flipbooks/ ... html#p=290
