| All clubs are sent a kit directive at the start of the year and are told to bring both kits in case of any problems.
Can't wait until the match officials forget their kits and have to ref in Saints shirts!  |

i could be wrong. but i have always been under the impression that in rugby league the home team wear their alternative if there is a clash. that being the case its castlefords balls up.
then again, surely sound planning would dictate taking two lots of kit along just in case.

Halifax's 2011 strip is less of a clash too. And has the same main sponsor. Shame they couldn't fish out them.
I said at 5.30pm that both sides were in their white kits, I wonder how early everyone who matters actually realised though?

I wouldn't mind so much, but the Halifax shirt is hardly avoiding the colour clash that well. From the back, it's almost completely white!

Thats what they do in union internationals. Rugby league operates a home team, home shirt policy. |

So Huddersfield should have been directed to wear their home kit.
Quote Notwithstanding the provisions of B1.24, where the Colours of the visiting Club clash with that of the home Club (and the Match Commissioner shall be the final arbiter of this), the visiting Club must change into such alternative strip or parts of strip as the Match Commissioner may direct. To ensure that this Rule can be complied with the visiting Club must bring two different sets of strip to the Match.'"
And Castleford should have brought their home kit even if they were instructed to wear their away kit. |

thanks to SBR the directive is clear. although i do wonder if rugby league operates a 'whoever can be d changing' policy, i recall many times seeing home teams play in away strips, even in the absence of a clash. me confoose. |

The RFL issue the kit directive, but do take into consideration requests from home teams to wear alternative kits.
However, as the kit directive shows, Huddersfield should clearly have been wearing their home kit for this game, so the fault lies with them.
