I was responding as a concerned uncle not a moderator but no its probably not a good term to use for Wakefield so I've got rid. Anyway would you like a Werthers Original?

The point I was trying to make (unsuccessfully as I didn't reckon on you lot still being so easily triggered) was that it was ages ago and I don't agree with continuing to do the wrong thing just because it happened 22 years ago to another club.
I didn't accuse all clubs of being greedy just the two that wanted to reduce the central funding offered further still to 800K.
I also didn't say Wakefield had done anything illegal. That's you again and I must remind you that as the national crime agency investigation is ongoing you've broken the AUP by doing so.'"
Please don't have a hissy fit on my account
Finally you now chose to admit it was wrong taken you 22 years to admit it but at least we're getting there now
Let me remind you it was you that mentioned on page 32 that fetched up the subject which has no reference to what the title is that's why I questioned you, you never have anything positive to say about Wakefield and is obvious you will try and discredit the club at any opportunity in any form
Very sad in my opinion

Bit weird. do you think I'm Chris Caisley or something? I'm not, I had nowt to do with that decision.
I thought it was clear i thought it was wrong when I said that we used to send kids to work in mines but it's not a reason to do it again. i.e. just because we did it before doesn't mean you should keep doing the wrong thing. Unless you agree with sending kids to work down mines. I know Wakefield has gone full scab now and voted in a tory but still.

And the rest of the RL world are STILL paying for Bradford's past mistakes.
As you say, two wrongs dont make a right.
Doing everything (badly) to try and help Bradford last time (or maybe the time before that) was wrong and "promoting" them now would also be wrong.
As you say, two wrongs dont make a right.

Perhaps you could remind the readers just why Odsal isn't being used and who is paying the rent and why ?
Bradford getting favours again when there are many more deserving clubs.
Really, with Fev getting beaten by an unsustainable Toronto side, to deprive them of promotion, maybe they should be the heir apparent or other side that has regularly chased promotion but, no, lets put Braford in there because they were great 15 years ago. Although, like Toronto, they seemed to be following an unsustainable business model.'"
Mate, you're normally quite a reasoned poster so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
If you think we've had any favours from anyone in the last 8 years I'd hate to see what someone would do who really had it in for us.
For the record I thought the whole Odsal business back in 2012 stank to high heaven as it was the catalyst for the club going down the toilet. It's also been a big reason behind the various fiascos since. That and the self interest of SL clubs in 2013 and the lack of diligence in allowing obvious shysters and cowboys to take over the club since. So if anyone thinks that Odsal deal was a favour to us they need their heads testing.
The current club is in no way ready for SL. It shouldn't be the Bulls going into SL in 2021. If it is then it's down to SL clubs self interest rather than any stupid favour the RFL did for us 8 years ago. I doubt that will penetrate the thicker skulls on here and on social media.

For me, with the 8 clubs that have thrown their hat in the ring, the preference should be given to "recent" on field form.
Yes, the chosen club should be financially as strong as possible. Although right now, unless they have a very, very, wealthy owner, all bets could be off. - Not getting crowds in for the early part of the season could be devastating for clubs all the way down the 3 "professional" leagues.
Despite my rants, I'm not trying to be "anti" Bradford, other than absolutely believing that there are a number of other clubs, who are significantly more worthy.
Having Nigel Wood involved at Bradford, will very likely increase their chance of selection but, this doesn't stop their selection being wrong.
RL as with all sport should be decided on the field and not by a phoney box ticking exercise, lets face it, our last venture into "franchising" didn't end too well and with the current method, there are going to be some very angry clubs and their supporters.
Looks like there will be another spectacular own goal for the sport.

No. Bullseye said " That and the self interest of SL clubs in 2013 and the lack of diligence in allowing obvious shysters and cowboys to take over the club since" which I believe is true. We have had a number of dubious chancers take us over. That's not to say the present owner is or isn't one.

Wouldn't Nigel Wood & family being major shareholders in Bradford be part of the problem ? A former RFL & IRLF Chief being involved in a club that his former colleagues & friends potentially promote ahead of more 'qualified' applicants would only add to the calls of potential corruption.
How to make friends & alienate people !

Mark Sawyer disagrees [i“We’re close to finalising Bradford’s Super League application and returning to Odsal is a crucial part of it. “We’ve been in meaningful talks with Bradford Council and the Rugby Football League about being back there early in 2021, which would fall nicely for the start of next season. A deal is getting closer and would involve spending a lot of money to refurbish the stadium and meet all safety requirements. “Bradford is a big city, the Bulls have a huge fanbase, a great history and a strong academy, so we should be in Super League". [/i
So it appears the Odsal problem has a solution now, and the opportunity is there for the fanbase to return in numbers. The council now seem supportive, people are putting money in and I saw something about Chalmers not chasing the money he is owed. Whilst all that that may not quite be enough to create a winning team, it certainly sounds like enough to re-launch the club in Superleague.
If they are re-admitted then we will have to see what the fan reaction is and how many fans give them their backing, then we need to see what the reaction of Bradford Business is and how much support they may give to what may be Bradford's premier sports club. If they don't manage 11th. spot or better (they will surely feel that they can easily do better than a Salford minus Watson, and heavily in debt) then I'd guess if everyone is in it for the long haul they will just aim to win the Championship 2022.
With respect I see more than enough for them to give this a go in the here and now. Delay for whatever reason (you don't give any reason) can only dampen the growing enthusiastic support getting behind the club, and allegedly that includes some top Superleague clubs. Bulls must not look a gift horse in the mouth, and I am sure they won't either.......
....And finally a return of the mighty Bulls splashed all over the national sporting media will nicely condemn the stuff about North America (especially McDermotts moaning and groaning) to be yesterdays news and today's fish and chip paper....

Toronto have had their chance - end of story
Let's hope that the games administrators make the "right" choice ??
Although they could point to the Bulls glory years, now 15-20 years ago, you would expect that they may take account of where they are right now.
However, you do suspect that with who is involved with their bid, much like Odsal, we may not have a level playing field.

Well if that is just Bull bait then lets see who you may annoy with that comment......
The grounds are not exclusively the future of course, it's people playing and watching that's the future. Last time I went to Odsal was Bradford.v.Leeds with a 10,000 crowd and it was a fantastic day all round. The Bradford.v.Leeds academy game is also keenly contested
I've also been to the modern keepmoat stadium with a few hundred in for the game between two clubs who don't have much of an amateur/junior scene at all and don't produce players....... .
