50 odd minutes, maybe around 55, Wigan conceded a silly penalty defending their own line. 'Is that 9-8 Joe?' says Hicks. WTF? Anyone know what the penalty count was at the time?

Leeds got something like 4 or 5 of the last 5 or 6 penalties on Thursday from Child. Makes you wonder if he checked the penalty count around the 65 minute mark....

I don't think that any club wants Child reffing their games, he is the new Ashley Klein

Needs to hurry up and go to the NRL then.

Klein was (is) an excellent referee who went on to satisfactorily referee Grand Finals and, later, a World Cup final. Players reacted well to him and certainly didn't have an issue with him refereeing them.

No one would dream of giving Child a final, let alone a world cup final.

I remember Klein upsetting a few Leeds fans back in 2005 when he ' pinged ' them for 3/4 forward passes in a row against
Leigh at Headingley , completely threw them into disarray , Sinfield was throwing it behind his runners for 20 minutes

I think the point is we were penalised for things at the PTB and cas weren't. also we got a warning after 4 pens, but cas didn't when they conceded 4 in a row. what BM doesn't say though is that's child. we've had games where we've had all the dodgy decisions. I certainly don't have an issue with the result.
for me he's been found out. he's only ever done the basics but sinfield provided the on field tactics. I don't think other fans realised just what a clever RL brain sinfield had.
for me his increasingly bizarre selections and use/non use of players should see him gone and soon. he refuses to have an assistant, he's so stubborn and arrogant that its his way or no way

No. McDermott achieved what he wanted. Leeds got every 50/50 decision and some that were nowhere near 50/50.

Nope. pretty sure I questioned his military record a couple of years ago! Despite what he says, when you look into it it isn't all that. Never known 1 ex military, deserving of praise and admiration who talks about it.

There seems to be some illusion that because he was ex military he is a leader and a hero! Anyone who has served will tell you that there are plenty of bad leaders in the military too and the hero's will credit their actions to others.

Standard tactic of SL coaches these days to question the officiating of a match - to try to influence the ref to prove them wrong in their next match; from what I gather, it may have worked, in that Leeds got everything against Wakey yesterday, apart from enough points to win the game.

I think some Leeds fans are being over the top - because they're spoilt and now have an expectation of winning everything; when you start a season having lost such influential players as Peacock, Sinfield and to a lesser extent Kylie, you are very much in a transitional season - they have enough talent to rescue it, but Uncle Bri may well be a casualty.

I think Brian is understandably unsettled at the prospect of being found out, having been masquerading as a head coach for the last few years. The real coach(es) left at the end of 2015 and he's nowhere to hide.

Bang on. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Obviously Kiyan is privy to information that no one else is. He must have studied McDermotts service record in great detail, though how he managed that I dont know.

Leeds seemed to be getting away with plenty.

The ref let the clock run when Wakefield were losing and had formed the scrum and then stopped the clock in advance of the scrum being formed when Leeds fell behind late on.

I think the ref did all that he could to be very, very "fair" to Leeds on Monday and I notice that McDermott didn't complain about the performance of the man in the middle.

Job done then in regards to McDermott's comments after the Cas game. His comments seemingly influenced the ref in our next game so he seemed to favour Leeds more. Not that it helped with the result.

We play a sport in which the red can call a penalty at most sets, consistency is what we crave. My team are being pulled heavily for offences the opposition are not at present, is the RFL trying to keep close comps? Knowing full well certain teams will fall off as the season hots up?
