Lets get this right though....
he is a great prospect, that's all. He needs a lot of development and game time against good teams before we can say he is as good as some of the players he is being compared to.
I seem to remember everybody saying how wonderful McGuire was going to be......good, but not great.

Wasnt saying wigan and leeds are of the same ilk, everyone knows that wigan are an average side now days, just making the point that even if he wemt to a team i dont like i would still want him to progress as a player for the good of england. |

I am dissapointed that he is not going to stay at salford. Wasnt this one of the reasons for franchising? so teams could keep people and build up a good squad and not just move on for money?

Not really no.
The franchise system was supposed to give way to more youngsters coming through at each club because they have time to blood them without the fear of relegation.
It was never designed to stop players moving between clubs…..
I actually think it’s good for the game he moves to Wire as it will only strengthen them and the game as we need a good group of top clubs with top players in the league rather than a spread of a load of average clubs with one or two stars in there. The better the standard of team mates he plays with the better Myler will become. |

Isn’t this what we’ve had for the umpteenth year?
What’s wrong with having two or three players from each team?
OK, if there’s a small club pool, the players will know their colleagues style of play, but based on last winters debacle, it doesn’t work, they just weren’t united.
I’m sure the Internationals would be better supported if the spread of players were greater than it had been up to the W.C.
OK, the French were second rate, but it was refreshing to see a team made up of many clubs, rather than the top few. |
