How can a 22 year old be looking for a new challenge?

Surely there is still plenty of challenges left for him at Leeds and in RL (if he is moving to Union).

No, Nobby will sign him in 3 or 4 years once he has been "a star union player".

He clearly isnt good enough for Nobby now, what him being young and British.

Why not move to the Tykes, or try his hand at dual-coding, if it's the challenge he wants?

of all the boards on here, the Wigan one is buzzing of talk of the "communist cap" and the death of the game - fans of every other club seem to have retained a sense of perspective on the issue.

one wiganer even seems to want to join the breakaway F1 competition for some unknown reason.

I don't like League players going to Union but it's just a selfish thing on my part. Nothing to stop people playing any sport they like I guess.

The problem is always why, which is a mix of money and profile. Whether the game or challenge is better is easy arguement for the RL mob to win, but in the end, if the masses still turn up to watch the dross at Twickers then that's where the money is.

From a Smith point of view, he's a great club player and although I would play him for England, he's not a massive loss to England. There are others that are as good and some potentially better in the long run.
It's only the same as if Sinfield went. It would be a massive problem to Leeds and the fans would never forgive them for letting him go.....but it would hardly cause a ripple in the Inetrnational firmament.

I feel the time is right to move on for more money.

That was my thoughts as well. He obviously isn't happy with something, otherwise he wouldn't want a new challenge, especially as such a young age. I could understand if he was a few years older.

Perhaps but he will get a hell of a lot more cash for this contract he is going to sign with Wasps.

I will tell you what obsession is......

WIgan fans and the Salary cap. They are the only set of fans obsessed with it. It barely gets a mention by other fans, but its a daily occurence on cherry&white.

What makes me laugh is they deny it has anything to do with the fact they now cant spend more than anyone else on wages.
