I think there have been a few players missing. It's easy to slate those trying to do something but there have been several who have not made themselves available for the ball.

| I know its not the done thing to praise England at all, but how many breaks have Australia made? They have hardly ripped us to shreds. I think the defence has coped OK overall.

No mate. All the international RU matches are refereed by neutral officials.

Agreed and thought the same last week. It's the Kiwis 4 nations to win IMO.
Also on that front instead of looking at what we can learn from Aus we should look to how incredibly well NZ have developed in the last 5/10 years. Aus will always lead the way but if NZ can close the gap why can't we?

| So without the three video ref decisions we'd be two points behind now and that's without Lunt's "ref's call" try. Appalling officiating that's completely ruined this game.

I thought they were impressively error-free in the first half, when they needed to be. Their foot's off the gas now, and they're coughing the ball up for fun. They'll also be unhappy with slack defence for both England's tries.
I'd favour New Zealand to beat them though.

| I'd say if you took Billy Slater and Darren Lockyer out of this Aussie side it would be the weakest ever seen. To put it into perspective they've easily beaten us despite having Greg Inglis, Jarrod Hayne and co missing. They didn't even pick Jamie Lyon as far as I know.
Shows how truly enormous the gap still is. It widens every year.

| The main problem with refereeing is the lack of top quality officals in the game at all, therefore theres nothing you can do about Refs refereeing their own country.

TBF we've had no Eastmond, no Sinfield, no Peacock and no Morley. ATEOTD the team haven't let themselves down and don't deserve slating on here.

| The real period of domination (when they score the lion's share of their points) can after the award of the try that shouldn't have been given by the Aussie ref.
If that had been a no try, the game would have been competitive.
Lunt's try was also 50-50.
The players know we don't get anything from Aussie refs, so why is this farce allowed to continue.

| so people are putting the blame on sam tomkins? How the hell is the full back supposed to play off the back of a hammered pack who can't get out of their own half.
Sam Burgess and Ellis did not look like NRL players! too many daft errors.
Line up for next week:-
1. Tomkins
2. Hall
3. Cudjoe
4. Clubb
5. Briscoe
6. Widdop
7. Robinson
8. Burgess
9. Roby
10. Graham
11. Ellis
12. Tomkins
13. O'Loughlin
14. Fielden
15. Crabtree
16. Lunt
17. Harrison
people are also forgetting this england team is missing sinfield, mcguire, pryce, eastmond, peacock, morley and we've refused to take gleeson on tour which bemuses me!

Yes, but the difference is that the referees in the Southern Hemisphere are not being given the opportunity to develop. The NRL won't develop kiwi refs unless they give up their life/family in NZ and move to Australia.
At least English Rugby League gave the likes of Thierry Alibert, Mohammed Drizza a chance. Australia gave Glen Black, David Pakieto and Leon Williamson no chance at all to develop.

| Great performance from the officials well apart from the 4 tries that weren't tries oh and the refs call.
We were missing more players than Australia and the lads did rather well.

| It must be a coach's dream to send a team out against England. All you have to do is sit tight and wait and you're guaranteed to get possession in dangerous positions from errors and penalties. Neither NZ nor Aus have had to play any rugby to beat us. The frustrating thing is that in both games, when we managed to complete a couple of sets in a row, we looked more than capable of competing. Unfortunately, however, we can't get through 5 minutes of rugby without making an error or giving away a penalty. Until we sort that out we'll never see the best of the likes of Tomkins at this level.

There are French and NZ refs.
The Aussies use the 'quality' excuse to get their own refs IMO. Also it puts pressure on neutral referees to ref the game in their favour because unless the Aussies get their way, the ref gets kicked out of international refereeing.
Small things make big differences at international level.

Spot on! They also take little interest in helping PNG develop. That's how the Aussies work they are so self centred but that's why they do a cracking job on any sporting field.
This is where the international RL board need to step into save our game as the Aussies would be more than happy with just the NRL & Origin.

What are you talking about? Cooper Cronk isn't exactly a bad replacement, Inglis was out of form before his injury and Jarryd Hayne would be playing out of position. It's not like having you're two captains and first choice halfbacks and best centre injured is it?
