Here's the curiosity from our POV - If you win on Saturday, that'll be by my count 3 major trophies (Prem '91, CC '05 and '13), since we last won a 'top tier trophy' of our own. Will you then move away from 'major finals' to 'major trophies'? Or are you now so wedded to reaching finals, rather than winning them, as a measure of success, that to do so would be awkward?

Thing is our short comings pale into insignificance to the pain you'll feel if you come up short once again, the song will dig the knife that little bit deeper




I think youll win BTw and half of me isn't bothered until I read posts like yours and hope the cherry pie tastes that bit sweeter on Saturday night.

Little statistic for you:

In the last 25 years, a Yorkshire side has only won the cup 5 times. 3 of these were all Yorkshire finals, and only 1 came against Lancashire opposition.

PS. I've backed Hull at 5-2 today - I'm not a big gambler, as you know, but those are ridiculous odds, IMO. Could even have got 13-5, but my colleague doesn't have a Bet Victor account. It'll pay for my trip up, at least.

I don't get the over confident mood of many "neutrals" towards a Hull win.

I fancied Hull to nick the win against Wire when they were writen off by most and do get the feeling that their name is on the cup this year so i will go for them to pinch another tight, low scoring game.

Thought it would have been simple Wigan and KR fans want Wigan, everyone else FC.

But you'll want Wigan, because you've already told us you don't like FC.

Wigan are a good team, and deserve their favourites tag, but their form is not great at all. If Hull can bring the same intensity they did to their semi and if Wigan don't buck their ideas up dramatically, Hull will likely win. Two medium-sized ifs, but 5-2 seems very generous. At evens, I'd not have bothered, I'd have thought twice at 7-4 as having a feeling you might just do it, wouldn't have stopped it feeling like hedging.

I'm genuinely not doing that thing of saying you should win to set you up for a bigger fall. You're underdogs, but not 5-2 underdogs, IMO.

Hoping Hull do it, preferably by the 6-10 points i got 10/1 for! But as the weeks gone on i think it could hinge on what options Hull will have available at centre, they are looking bare there at the minute now

i think it would be good for the game as a whole if hull won. they have some big game players, and brought ellis back for exactly this sort of impact and occassion. hull have come through some hard games to get there, and deserve the win for defeating catalan and wire. wigan by 10-14 though

Totally agree with this.

If Wigan regain their form then i'd make them strong favourites to win but anything else then i can really see Hull beating us and i'm very worried about this game as there's alot of quality on the Hull side.

Hopefully it's the game that snaps us back into form but i'd say this final is very evenly balanced.

If you support Wire, you'll sell your kids to the BBC before you'll want a Wigan win.
