I hope Inu is an addition and not a replacement. Backroom investment is essential to future success. That will obviously depend on the role he has and Grix's desire to stay under a different coach in potentially a different role.

£150,000 for a coach is certainly unheard of in the modern game and must bode well for the news of potential investment but things have certainly moved a pace from a couple of weeks ago when Richie Myler was just a player few of us had any good memories of. Now he has rode into town on a white horse and given us all hope with big promises of investment and now a real intention making, big money bid for a coach. Its still hard for me to see how anyone would want to invest big style in a club that doesn't even own its own ground and is in a pretty invidious lease situation and that is, lets face it, a club that seems to have a permanent death wish as far as the playing side, which has been visibly run down, is concerned. we all want to believe that its all straight up and happening and just the first steps on the way back for the club which I have to say it feels like it is! If Rowley signs then he certainly wouldn't be coming if there was any doubt in his mind about the validity of our position to deliver what he wants so all must be well.

To be paying out a big compensation and to have convinced Rowley he’ll have funds to put together a competitive squad, it must be a decent chunk. It’d look iffy to external creditors if they were still waiting on payment, so probably the COVID loan is covered too?

It would certainly indicate that the club and Rowley have agreed a deal for him to be the Head Coach and it is now a matter of agreeing a compensation deal with Salford.

Still I won't be getting too excited until it is officially announced but if we are looking at paying a 6 figure fee to secure our No.1 target for the next head coach then its fair to assume there must be some significant investment coming in to the club, if not already and significant level of intent moving forward.

Getting Rowley in this early will be fantastic as it will allow him to start reshaping the squad for next season. We will look a completely different team next season thank god

Very optimistic for next year and beyond with this news. However, as a fan base we need to ensure that he doesn't get tarred with this squad, as I can't see much improvement with this group of players.

Hopefully, we start to see the shoots of a new style of play, and the continued development of a really promising group of kids

If Myler gets this over the line it will be a huge way to make a start at a new club. A lot was made of his appointment by people about what a poor and bizarre choice he was, but if his first job is signing a coach the calibre of Rowley then hopefully it will start to shut some people up.
I know you could see its easy to just throw a big salary at a coach and ask them to sign, but it's not that straight forward. Myler has obviously done a great job of selling the club and what the future plans are, and how they would like Rowley to fit into that.
This is obviously only 1 part of the DOR job and things could still go down hill for Myler, but IF he can finalise the deal to get Rowley in then it's one hell of a good start in my opinion.

Agreed small steps slowly build a decent squad.

Briscoe whilst may be past his best will be a good signing for the young kids alone, Martin, Barron and Tindall can all learn from him. Hes also strong out the backfield which we desperately need.

One million percent this needs to happen now. Weve wanted change and we sre getting it.Talk of players being moved on, finally some good young kids coming in, a director of rugby who at least will be more qualified then our previous people in charge of that. New investors and it seems we are about to sign a really good head coach.

Time to forget about the past, show some patience and we could well get ourselves out this hole. It WONT be an overnight fix, time for us to stop our negativity and get behind this regime.

With the new investment coming in , Hopefully it will attract other potential local investor to join the bandwagon .

Echoing what others say, if we're paying a compensation for Rowley plus the recent severance packages for Hoy, Smith and Gene along with the added salary for our new DOR, the investment is surely a done deal. We seem to have suddenly got money from somewhere.

Good pick up Rowley, don’t think there’s much better domestically. Not to say there isn’t money but losing hoy and brown of the wage bill and budget probably saved 150k no? So if they aren’t replaced this year is it fair to assume it’s just putting the same money to better use?

Suppose you could argue mylers wage shows spend as well. I’m sure you’d all like more insight into that but at least he’s not sat happy about the situation and is trying to make something happen one way or another

If Rowley confirmation is confirmed, and like another forum member already posted, it's not entirely unknown for a new coach to try and bring in trusted players from his current club. No idea if Rowley would follow suit but maybe Callum Watkins, Salford captain
