For once I can see where Freak is coming from: Myler is a rare talent. We did not produce it but he has been allowed to develop at Salford. Now he is moving on - to a club where they very much may not play him every week and where he has the label attached of "Superstar" at a young age.

Just because he ia a talent, just because he is at a club that presents itself as one of the greats (no dig there - be nice to see it happen), and just because he has been so lauded that he has a huge price put upon him: none of this means it will happen. I wish him the best. I hope it can happen : not like a name-sake last seen not doing well in Union.

It was effectively Myler's choice by refusing a new contract at Salford.

They could have dug their heels in and kept him for the final year of his contract but then he would have left for a pittance in 2010.

It makes financial sense for Salford to take £200,000 now rather than, say, £20,000 next year.

Can we just point out that Warrington have, as usual dealt with matter properly. Warrington are in their rights to approach a player in the correct manner and it should be pointed out that a lot of the "head turning" probably was caused by sites such as this one.

I would have thought that Wire out a bit for Johnson and Reardon seeing as they were at the Bulls.

As for Myler and Atkins joining I'm sure that Tony Smith being at Wire played a part, both with his England connection and the fact that he is one of the best coaches in the competition. I would imagine that the set up at Warrington is also more professional than at Salford and Wakefield.

Yeah, the fact that his agent will have told him that his wages will probably shoot up, Warrington are far more likely to win silverware than Salford and that his new coach is also the England coach will have very little to do with it.

Good luck to Wire, if they use Moran's money wisely and build a team worth watching it will be a boost for what is currently a very mediocre competition.

OK, it's unlikely they can do a Wigan, and get themselves and RL in the nations collective conscious - but RL in this country is sadly lacking a bit of glamour, and if they can back up big money signings with achievements they might create a little stir.

Funny how when Warrington sign players people say wire only got them because there paying over the odds, and there on mega bucks, but as soon as they leave too make room for another player they were on peanuts and the person coming in is on a fortune.

Isuggest you go back to posts from when Reardon signed to find an example, likewise Rauhihi. In fact if a Bulls supporter passes by shortly they will be able to confirm the rumour at the time was it was the huge bucks on offer at the time that led to "Ray" signing for the Wire.
It is true though that Warrington have a terrible record of keeping to the salary cap unlike your own team.
