For the first 20 minutes of the game it did sound like commentator Stuart Pyke has had his whistling teeth fixed. Due to dental issues, he manages to spoil coverage of darts more than Rod Studd but is at least doing a reasonable job of making Bill Arthur sound adequate.

Dunno which I enjoyed most, Salford going in ahead or Holbrook's smacked 4r5e face...lol

Why the hell would Salford go for a short kick off, 10 points up with13 minutes to go. Just put the long kick in and make saints come the length of the field to score.

Well that was almost predictable, Saints ghost through Salfords defense to score. Big mistake that kick off, could lose them the game.

This sufficient evidence rubbish we keep hearing is so annoying. It was clear as day that the ball was lost so the decision is no try.

How can the video ref see this but not overturn the on field decision?

Blatant knock on for that try - wouldn't be given in a normal game, but you have the cameras there and it was referred upstairs. Get the decision right.

Also the spinning 'try / no try' wheel always ends up on the opposite result of what it starts on.

Stupid flop by Griffin proved costly.

Winning try, he lost it for me, I don't know how a professional referee, with the video footage could see otherwise.

Yep. I can totally understand the on-field ref giving it. But what’s the point of the VR? It’s a clear knock on.

So, so unfair on Salford who put on a fabulous show really taking it to Saints...

They didn’t deserve to win in my opinion but you can’t fault Saints either because champion sides find a way to win and that’s what they’ve done!

The video refs make mistakes but never seem to ever have to face the consequences of their bad decisions.

That’s not a reason for doing away with the VR though, we just need the VR’s to actually make the right decision.

Yeah, I thought he wasn't going to give it because he was pausing it on the moment he lost it and the ball rolled up his forearm.

As a neutral the game was a really good watch but a few of Salford's calls once they went up weren't the best and they didn't play like they were in front with a 2 score lead and less than 15 minutes left. That short kick off and the Griffin flop were really costly for them, tries came off the back of each mistake, when they appeared to be in control of that game. Saints got a sniff and were all over them after that. If I was a Salford fan I'd feel robbed though after that R ref call.

Need to bin off the ref having to make a call on field for me. Reckon that would have been rightly disallowed if the ref didn't send it up as a try. If the ref needs to check then he's not 100% sure, so how can you get him to make a decision on something as important as a try when he isn't sure.
Also cant believe he actually checked the grounding when Swift tried diving for the corner. Embarrassment that neither him or the touchie could 100% say that he dropped it.
