Is it televised? If not, why Friday night? Whys our game v you lot friday too? I love going to the Stoop, but a friday night is a total none starter.

If we arty on how we are I can see us taking a decent number down. I love the Friday night London trips. Especially back when we were relegated at brentford park. That was an amazing night.

basically, the club will try anything once and then change their minds. Friday nights are this years experiment.......it may get more fans but I seriously doubt it myself.

Tie in with a union club
stupid jerseys
10 minute walk from the station
30 minute train journey from central london
The dog ate my homework
West London isn't working class


Twickenham is a union stronghold (it's not..it's just where their stadium is)
The Media hate us
the sun gets in your eyes sitting in the east stand
No pubs near by

Shooting yourselves in the foot in my opinion. How many people will come down from Yorkshire to London on a friday night now? It means having to book a day off work i'd of thought for the away fans.

If it does work though & more home fans attend, then fair enough.

The club has to look for home fans.......away fans have CC Final, a trip to Wales, A trip to OT and a French jolly to spend cash on every season....the trip south isn't as "big" as it once was.
I think the Friday night experiment is targeting "locals" from the immediate borough.......as I say, it's an experiment and as you rightly point out, it is a risk.

Poor Castleford fans. Don't Quins realise that they have to travel from 1972 for all their away games? Poor sods

it was a sunday afternoon and we filled 115 coaches at £1 a person,it was played at the valley charlton and we filled both ends behind the posts.that was at the time when the club won club of the year and the team on the field got within 80 minutes of the grand final.

after a dull period the club is now on a sound footing and heading back to those standards.

because it applies to the Catalans also - their finances aren't exactly brilliant and if M.Guasch gets fed up with the continual lack of success or even a sniff of the play-offs he too could pull the plug or begin to lose important sponsors to USAP for example.Losing to Quins then Wakey was really bad and with HKR then the mighty Saints coming up it's looking quite serious.The littel fat general will not tolerate this situation for long and we could see an early exit from a member of the the coaching staff.
Watching M.Guasch as he strolled across the pitch to the tunnel with his face like thunder last saturday evening reminded me of the last days of KW which would be a pity cos' TR is a good coach and has the backing and respect of the players.

Arghh!! It's the same argument all the time.. but I must admit it is a very low number of fans.

London has had a pro RL team for about 30 years now....but haven't had a base or team for that long...they've been Fulham, London Crusaders, London Broncos, Harlequins RL.. they've also moved all over London, which I have to inform you (if you live in a bubble and didn't realise) is a rather large city. You can't just jump on one bus and get to the ground from all of London...nor will one train get you there. The commute to and from the game is always going to isolate half the city or more. Unless you drive (and the roads can be a nightmare) it is a long journey that lots of people can't be bothered with...especially when it's cold, hammering with rain and the opposition isn't exactly a title contender.

You then have 3 or 4 professional RU clubs in the city (which have a large fan base of people generally already converted to RU and not willing to give RL a chance), then you have 5 premiership football teams around the city who take up most of the other sport support....you aren't left with much of a willing audience.

No disrespect, but towns/cities like Leigh, Widnes, Halifax etc don't have these barriers to stop match day attendances rising...so, coupled with the long heritage of growing up with a settled team and culture of RL these teams probably do have a higher volume supporters.

RL in London is critical, maybe not everyone can see it....and I admit it is hard to accept when your team is kept out of SL because of the London team...but the number of players taking up and developing in the sport in the South East is massive, as such a pro top tier level team is crucial in order to give them a goal to aim for. In the next 5-10 years it will increase the player pool England/GB can select from and give us the possibility of beating the Aussies (as it clearly hasn't worked for some time with the current production of players of the so called big teams!!)

But, hey that's just my opinion!!

Quins play in Twickenham and train at Surrey Sports.

Saracens are only slightly outside of London (Watford)....for now, talk of them moving nearer the City.

London Irish train in Sunbury and only play their pro matches in Reading....as such large amounts of their supporter base and junior/family set up members live in South West London

London Wasps (breakaway team from Quins) train in Acton and play their games in Wycombe (again not far off London)

As such many RU fans in London follow one of these teams

Nah meant have booked onto a coach so can enjoy the day and have a few ales.

Lot of respect for Cas: traditional club, great history + strong support - what SL is (or at least should be) all about....
