My typing error, for 'Grounds,' read 'Offences.'

First I don't appreciate the "Clouseau" jibe, I have posted my views as to the images I have seen and you are free to disagree. Don't show yourself up.
The straight arm, clenched fist punch very clearly shown in the images is just what i said. To describe it as a "tap" is frankly silly and just discredits anything else you say. The only thing the punch didn't do is connect flush. Which I also already said.
Secondly the mascot didn't "go down like a felled tree". He steps to his right and then just overbalances backwards, basically sitting down on his arrse. He then gets up. Nobody is making any more of it than that. He doesn't roll around feigning injury or whatever. He just stands up and walks in pursuit of his head. You seem to be blaming him for being punched and accusing him of faking. I think you have issues if that's the case.'"
I've just watched it again and nothing has changed. The lad pushes/taps the mascot on his head, nothing more, nothing less. Anyone is free to watch it and agree or disagree with me, the majority will agree with me because they've no agenda like you obviously have. If anyone has discredited himself it is you. Watch the video before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

No-one has an agenda apart from yourself. Maybe we should start with the fact that the 'lad' should not have been there in the first place.

Beg to differ? With whom or with what?
The act refers to a "designated football match". What is that? Well, you don't need "clues". Section 1 tells you. "In this Act a “designated football match” means an association football match designated, or of a description designated, for the purposes of this Act by order of the Secretary of State.
We don't play association football.
Someone suggested that the law had been widened to include rugby games, and I just asked what law.

As FA says, the law specifically mentions Association Football = Soccer, NOT rugby, you need to check the wording a bit closer and understand what 'association Football' actually is/means.
I'll give you a clue..it isn't rugby league football..
"A designated match is an Association Football match in which one or both of the participating teams represents a club which is for the time being a member (whether a full or associate member) of the Football League, the Football Association Premier League, the Football Conference or the League of Wales, or represents a country or territory"

But that is the now defunct 1991 Act, which was updated in 1999 and 2006.

It is not "defunct". If it were, then what on earth was the point of "updating" a "defunct" Act?
All this is just ludicrous, all I asked was the pretty simple question WHICH SPECIFIC section in which Act or which Statutory Instrument APPLIES THE PROVISIONS TO RUGBY LEAGUE MATCHES".
If you know, just tell us, if you don't, just say. This coy fannying about is irritating.

| It was posted on the Salford forum that Queens were suspended from the competition following some similar a few years back against Doncaster. Has the precedent already been set by the RFL?

No. Because Queens are a disgrace to RL who should've been banned from rugby league entirely years ago, along with plenty of their players, coaches and club officials.
Whilst Widnes have a problem with an element of their fans at the moment it's not the same situation.
If they don't deal with the problem and it happens again then they'd be at risk of being banned.

| This incident, perversely, has given me a new found sense of respect for the Widnes club itself. The rogues gallery scrolling across their website, coupled with strongly worded statements and video uploads, all illustrates a really professional approach to addressing a really crap situation which they find themselves in.

Yeah we knew that. They are relatively minor incidents that whilst need addressing are not on the same scale as the pitch invasion.
They also don't have the same record as Queens, who have been bringing RL into disrepute for decades.

| Having seen many of those youtube uploads, I thought the reaction of the Castleford fans to being goaded by the Widnes lot was, well, pityful really.
All they could come up was that tedious 'Yorkshire Yorkshire' chant. Pathetic.
Surely they could have come up with something witty to embarrass the Widnes fans instead of giving another airing to one of the worst and most boring chants we ever hear at a RL stadium.

Well yes I agree any admiration we may have felt for them not being goaded onto the pitch, has been evaporated by them failing to sing an originally penned song. Can we get some video footage of the perpetrators?

How about we just be glad they didn't wade on the pitch and have a mass brawl?

I would have preferred the Widnes "fans" to keep moving forward into the stand where the Cas fans were - now that would have been interesting.

| Why did so many of them remove their shirts as they entered the playing area? It was like a mass body dysmorphia episode. They must have thought they looked like something out of Gladiator when the rest of the World saw pallid weaklings with pipe-cleaner arms or fat, hairy-ar5ed losers. The one on Page 3 (I kid you not!) of League Express is a belter. Looks like a balding Silverback!
