| Even if he's slightly over the hill, I'd still take have him in the squad for the internationals at the end of the season - purely for his terrific leadership qualities and the experience he can pass on to the younger players in the squad.

Interesting. From a saints POV, I'd suggest Puletua has had a better season so far than Peacock, I've also heard big things coming from Hull about O'Meley.
Its only a case of opinions, but I don't feel like I've seen alot of/from Peacock this year.

| he's still to get back to proper match fitness. Don't know how anyone can call Peacock, he's been 100% for both Bradford and Leeds and he pasted Mason. Just wish Wigan could have signed him alongside Fielden. Now though, we've got Mossop, who is going to be imho, an all time great.

I have to say, I am trying to see what everybody else does in Mossop, I would love another English prop on the scene that can mix it at international level but I haven’t seen anything so far that says he will be a great. In fact, every time I have seen Wigan this year, Coley has been the best Warriors prop
As for Peacock, his form is poor at the moment and he was dominated at the weekend which is very unlike Peacock. I am not ruling him out of returning back to his past form as he has been superb for Bradford, Leeds and England/GB over the years
Come the 4 Nations, I hope one of two things happens, either Peacock is fit and firing or McNamara has the guts to drop him – the worst thing of course would be to see peacock selected and play poorly – as well as being bad news for England it would be a terrible shame for Peacock to lose a well earned international reputation

| Quote ="Offside Monkey"Morley doesn't seem to be struggling when I see him.
I must say though, I was mighty impressed with Carvell on friday. For me, he has failed to live up to his billing since signed from Hull, but looks to really be in the right gear. The guy is massive and if he's on form, has the physical atributes to bother even the Aussies.
Eorl, to his credit, has shown up well at international level when I doubted his inclusion. I remember a game against the Kiwis when they didn't really know what to do with him.'"
yu would be wrong over carvell, he was very very good in 09 when he signed, him and morley were influential in sending us to the CC final, he was a bit ropey last year after breaking his ankle but he's been an absolute machine this year, before and after him getting his new contract.

Mossop doesn't do anything flash, but does most things very well. He doesn't have the phyiscal presence of Coley, yet makes more metres and has a phenomenal leg drive.
Also gets through a shed load of work in defence which people often overlook - 539 tackles made, and only 17 missed.
One of the best things about the season for me thus far has been Mossop's consitently good performances, considering this is his first year as a Prop, I'm mightily impressed with him.

| Mossop has been our best prop by a distance and would get in my England 17. He's a big lad that's only going to get bigger and he has a fantastic workrate. He never gets dominated in the tackle and his defence is exceptional.
He's very young for a prop but in time he could be very very good.

| Paul Wood has easily been in the top 5 props in superleague this season.... probably warringtons best.
2169 meters from 307 carries
528 tackles
36 offloads
to put people like peacock in above him is bordering on the ridiculous.

I don't see him every week, and to be fair, up until this year, we always used to beat you, so that would have been a couple of the performances I'd seen him in.
When he signed for Hull I wondered if you would get the best out of him as a lot of people said he was too injury prone.
As I said, I was very impressed with him on Friday. Such a big man to drag down.

Missing tackles and dropping the ball were always Wood's downfall, how is he on those?
And Peacock has come up with 2 kicks in general play, you can't underestimate the impact of a forward with a kicking game.

he has obviously been told to go out and play in an expansive way.... and yes it creates handling errors and missed tackles... but the majority of these have been when were 30/40 points up and throwing it around....
There have been plenty of times when he has started a try scoring moved by offloading under 4 or 5 tacklers... or he has broke through a tackle to offload and put someone clean through.

Understatement of the year.

| He's still one of the best on his day, but even that is a million miles away from the rampaging prop that battered defences apart 3/4 years ago. He should hang up his Rep boots and concentrate on giving his best for Leeds.

There are better props in our game now and as a few have previously mentioned Mossop is a very good player who will shine for England in the near future.

I'd like the throw Larne Patrick into the mix, very quick for a prop, has good feet and will run at/through anything! Definately one for the future!

| No one mentioned it but Peacock was absolutely woeful for England in the Exiles game, he made mistakes, missed tackles and had no go-forward whatsoever.
The only hope for him is that he has taken note of how Petero Civoneceva has turned things around, last season he was poor by his standards but has been back to his best this year.

Your right about Coley. From being average to poor a couple of years ago, he's now one of the best in SL and we miss him when he doesn't play. Peacocks form is poor but I'd put this down to lack of match fitness and I'm pretty sure he'll just get better as the season goes on.
As regards Mossop, although he's not yet the finished article, he's been close to MOM on several occasions and I reckon he's going to mature into a great.
