Yes send him home please
He may have played for Scotland, but the way the RFL changes between GB / England etc means that selecting a side does not mean much.
I think he is the best player in SL at the moment let alone the best that can play for us, so I have no shame in having him penned in at 7 before any other pics!

| He absolutely terrorized Amos Roberts with those high bombs when we played Huddersfield. His technique is probably the best I've seen in Super League. He's certainly one of the best kickers in Super League and probably the best English kicker in the game.
At international level we've lacked a quality kicking game. We have the flair with Sam Tomkins, Gareth Widdop and James Roby. A quality kicking game from Danny Brough with Sean O'loughlin playing at loose forward and that is one hell of a talented spine of players.
1. Sam Tomkins
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Danny Brough
9. James Roby
13. Sean O'loughlin

| If we say players can't change their nationality then no players will play for the smaller nations that have a remote chance of playing for one of the 'Big 3' countries.
Until these countries can produce enough players to make a competitive team then the rules as we have them are the best way to go.

Are you being ironic?
There are no doubts at all over Brough's defence. He is certainly no revolving door.

You obviously dont watch much of Danny Brough then.
You realy should not comment on things you know nothing about.
Being bitter and twisted about SL is acceptable as you have an opinion.
Your comments about Brough are just plain stupid and make you look IGNORANT

Hmm That's your belief through claret and gold glasses.
I beg to differ.
If, and it's a big if, IMO, he gets picked for England in the 4 nations, he will be found out AGAIN.
If his defence was as good as his attacking/kicking skill then fine, but IMO it isn't. Brown has his team covering for him at the Giants. I don't think would be possible at international level.
BUT!!! If proved wrong on the international field then I will retract my comments.

| The form player in the league at the moment, but I think you must give credit to Brown & Robinson as the three of them play as pivots & give the Giants many options in every tackle & the form of the team reflects that. Would he be the same if parachuted into any team without the structure he plays with there?

That is the same for EVERY half back. It is up to the coach to pick players that work together and put systems in place to bring out the best in them. That is the difference betwen a good coach and McNamara

I watch Brough every week and there is no weakness in his defence. Anyone who has watched himm this season will say that.
Ask Leeds fans about his two man and ball tackles on Delaney a few weeks ago which stopped certain tries.
Broughs defence is as good as any half back in the SL today

He was superb at Trinity who basically play without a structure. Put him in this years team and they would have a few more wins. Also there is little wrong with his defence. He also makes his fair share of cover tackles too.

No it wasn't.
He was forced out effectively by Peter Sharpe (as was Thackray) as part of improving the culture at the club.
His next gig was at Castleford (still in SL at the time), and he actually played against us that year at the KC.
He was a young developing player who showed an extremely high amount of potential from day one, and was one of hour best players in the Cup Final as well. We should never have gotten rid. We should have worked closer with him to get him to fit into the culture Sharpe wanted. Peter Sharpe's recruitment decisions are what cost him his job in the end.

If you consider being told to act like a professional RL player being 'forced out'. Personally I don't. He couldn't hack the discipline required and spat his dummy. Not for the first time.
Credit to him that he's transformed his attitude since.

True - I'd forgotten that he joined Cas before they went down. My bad.

Disagree on all counts. He showed potential but his attitude stank, and he was nowhere near being one of our best players at any point in the 2005 final. He was given ample opportunity to shape up but spat his dummy and said he didn't want to play for the club any more. He [idecided to leave[/i - we didn't chuck him out on his ear. Sharpe's recruitment may have been questionable but this is not an example of it.

| Quote ="Gamer 111"Half the England Cricket team are South African.'" But they are committed to England, they haven't played for South Africa and then decided to become English. The issue here is that Brough has already played numerous times for Scotland, and even captained them at a World Cup. But for some reason the RLIF think that nations other than Australia, NZ and England don't matter, and that those three nations can poach their players whenever they like.
