Is it?
My understanding is that companies keep their registered numbers even when majority shareholdings change. As in the following examples...
CASTLEFORD RUGBY LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED
Registered No.00214373
Incorporation Date: 15-06-1926
WIGAN RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB LIMITED
Registered No.00174692
Incorporation Date: 12-05-1921
WARRINGTON FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED
Registered No.00370871
Incorporation Date: 25-11-1941
ST HELENS RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED
Registered No.00331905

| Quote ="Grendel"Not sure how relevant this is, but it seems that the Wrexham ANZACS are not even the same team legally.
A bloke on the SW Scorps website has found that Celtic Crusaders Limited is being / has been wound up and a new company formed with the name Wrexham Crusaders Limited and a new company number.
So it seems that the only thing the Wrexham Crusaders (THEIR name, not my dig) have in common with the late lamented (by me) CELTIC Crusaders is half a dozen players, half a dozen supporters and Mike fakking Turner.
As such it seems odd to me that the WC were given the franchise previously awarded to the CC, without even having to apply.'"

I take it that the folk of South Wales, even those supporting Scorpions, are now officially "flatcappers holding back the game" whereas they had previous been "a breath of fresh air, just what the game needs".
Nice to know.

| Just to clarify Wrexham Crusaders and Wrexham ANZACS is not the name of the team. It is Crusaders Rugby League.
Wrexham Crusaders Ltd, a company has been formed to replace the original Celtic Crusaders Ltd. No club I know in existance has Limited at the end of their name as much as some would like to think so.

The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps was formed in 1915 and operated during the First World War at The Battle of Gallipoli. I watched the ANZAC Day NRL matches and the rememberance services surrounding this and it was quite moving. I find it a little sad that this is used in some kind of way to mock a 2010 Super League team 95 years after the original formation.'"
ANZACS is used in many other contexts though, for instance in 2004 (IIRC) Cumbria played the ANZACS at Derwent Park.
Also there has been a Kangaroo vs Kiwi fixture on ANZAC day in the past. Nobody takes offence at it being described as the ANZAC test or ANZAC match.

| Fair enough. I stand corrected.
For what it is is worth though the names are used to commemorate something or name something after the ANZAC as a mark of respect. I think using it as a way of mocking something or someone is something totally different. The club aren't getting named ANZACS for any good reason here.
I still think it is a bit stupid to call Crusaders the Wrexham Crusaders and ANZACS when it isn't technically their name also.
If it pleases some though let them carry on.

| Thanks I will.
Wrexham Crusaders IS the company name.
Wrexham ANZACs is my derogatory nickname for this mostly SH team playing out of North Wales. If you choose to point out its other connotations in an effort to paint me as somehow disrespectful to the commonwealth soldiers who died in the war, well I think that's a matter for you not me.
I have no issue with you Lew. Never have, never will. But what can I say? I detest your club. I don't take kindly to being screwed over and the lies about no investment in S Wales merely rubs salt into the wound. so I have a go. And will continue to point out every lie, every hypocrisy that reveals itself.
There's plenty of barracking of clubs goes on on these boards and people don't take it personally.

You really don't have a clue, do you?
Grendel is a South Walian who supported the Crusaders until they moved. Crucrucrusaders is a South Walian who continues to support Crusaders despite the move.
What precisely is Grendel supposed to be jealous of?
This in a [unutshell[/u illustrates your whole problem. Anyone who takes a different view from you with regard to Crusaders is obviously a flatcapper who is envious.

You can carry on Chris.
I'm going to try to relax and enjoy my rugby league this year. Be that Crusaders, Scorpions, Newport Titans whoever.
If I trawled these boards looking to defend Crusaders over everything that was said about them I'd never get off here and my life is consumed enough by rugby league as it is. If only I could win the lottery.
I'll probably see you at Scorpions games and we'll agree to disagree on this one. The argument could go on and on so I'll let it go over my head. Good luck to Scorpions for the new season and let's hope we get a day where a Welsh derby game happens in the league. I'll take that.

I've just heard the club are swapping home and away colours.
Home is red and white with away being black and gold. Wrexham colours for home games.
I can live with that but don't think I would be able to carry on if they changed the name to Wrexham Crusaders. It would cut off any ties I have to the club and link it to a town rather than it being the 'club for Wales' which it has always marketed itself as.

These are holding companies. The clubs are assets of these companies they own the club but they arent the club. Hence why the foundation dates of the companies and clubs dont match. Assets can be bought and sold. Its almost the definition of what they are.
They are held in these companies to limit the risk to the individual investors.
Its worth noting the Celtic Crusaders LTD are being wound up but that doesnt mean their debts are being ignored. They must still be paid by Celtic Crusaders LTD or that company will eventually be declared bankrupt.

To be quite honest, I think it's looking like it's going to be the next step. A shame for you as I know how much you've invested in watching the Crusaders in all three pro divisions, but personally I think it's better for a club's future to tie itself to a town, or at least a close region, rather than the 'club for Wales' line, something in my mind that would only be achieved by genuinely playing at 4-5 different venues during the course of the season, which would of course render season tickets largely meaningless and mean people don't get in to the habit of attending games.

| Having said I wouldn't attend I would have to see what I thought when it happened.
The colour change was apparently in the pipeline back last season when Samuel was at the helm so maybe I have jumped the gun.

Think you might agree in that changing your 'home' colours, badge etc won't help in the aim of building an identity for yourselves; it's one thing changing kit designs etc, but your club colours are what defines a club, something confirmed when you look on this website and see Claret & Gold, Black & Whites, Scarlet Turkey & CherryPinchedOffLeyth & White.

Making things up again?
I am not old, bitter or against expansion.
However, i would rather be a member of that "club" than some one who would turn his back on the game and go watch AFL. Turncoat.
