Is it possible to have a substantiated rumour?

Once it is substantiated does it stop being a rumour?

This is an important epistomological question.

However I am concerned about the human rights of these fine young men. Surely a suspension ought to be a private matter not something announced on a website.

Thats my general point, if its something relatively minor like thay were to hungover to get to training, then just say so. If its much bigger, why only suspend them for 1 week? very strange

Don't know about you, but I would have thought a £500 fine (going to charity) and a public apology would have been a better way to deal with this...IMO.

I dunno about you but I don't see what the hoohaa about having a beer on a long coach journey is, after you have just battered your body. One away day playing at uni, we had a few hours to fill (Cardiff to Liverpool) so "raided" the student shop at UWIC, cleaned the fridges out and got absolutely smashed together to celebrate defeat.

It is all part of the banter and fun of a team sport.

It does seem very excessive, 3 pints isn't a lot really I could understand the fuss if he had been drinking on the way to the game but after then game I don't see the problem - although we are of course assuming that this is the whole story and not just his side of it I guess.

IF Wakefield are prepared to let their players "agents or relatives" openly discuss internal disciplinary issues, then they may as well throw in the towel now. I can see this getting worse for Sculthorpe. If he has been hauled over the coals and warned about this, then any resultant publicity could mean further sanctions against him

one weeks pay ( fine ) is £1600 so his salary i am sure goes over 52 weeks puts him on £83,200. p.a.

the story seems to be that Trinity asked the driver to remove the stock of booze from the fridge but 'some' of the players found it and broke the clubs rules. JK is right to discipline players because there has to be a line in the sand. Whether the club should have broadcast it is another matter but IF Sculthorpe is threatening all sorts then perhaps the club had no choice. Assuming he is guilty he should shut and take his punishment like a man and not get his dad to spout off. If I was caught drinking at my desk at work I'd get a hell of a lot more than a one week suspension and because I know the rules getting my dad to plead my case would be futile.

Apparently the players are docked a weeks pay and suspended. There is a public announcement by wakey......and now there is an investigation!

for very serious rule breaking an organisation may suspend someone straight away surely this cannot be a few drinks on a bus? Even in a serious case the thing is kept confidential until AFTER the investigation. Well at least it is in professional organisations.

Were non of the cub coaches on the bus with the players? Why not have a quiet word with the players at the time?
