I cant believe Hull FC fans are defending Albert Kelly based on the argument "there are always 2 sides to every story" and that he could have been abused by the McDonalds worker. Having words thrown at you, rightly or wrongly is part and parcel of being a sportsman in the public eye. Do you think Paul Sculthorpe MBE or Kevin Sinfield MBE, would act in the way Kelly did when receiving taunts from Wigan or Castleford fans? They wouldnt even be in a grotty eating establishment at stupid o clock, in an inebriated state anyway as they were consummate professionals

You've spent years obsessing over Leigh. So can't get on any high horse. As a humanitarian I was concerned this story wasn't covered correctly as FC and local media tried to keep a lid on it. But it's not OK is it, although you may think it's perfectly ok to abuse staff because you're drunk it isn't, really it isn't. Who or why somebody was videoing it is irrelevant. Every week you see court cases where people say "oh but I was drunk", if you can't handle it, stay off it. Got to feel for people in the service industry and those who have to put up with the subsequent mess in hospitals.

Does CCTV typically have sound? Genuine question. Even if it does, it’d struggle to pick much up in an busy McDonald’s unless it was shouted, I’d guess.

As somebody noted above, the assumption (which I shared initially) that it was a member of staff rather than another customer has no obvious basis.

If I was that lovely young lady and I had an overweight rugby superstar abusing me and calling me sexist names, I too would film him just in case verbal abuse wasnt enough for him and he started to be come physically abusive. That way I would have the necessary evidence for the police

Plus staff would have the right to refuse service and so if someone was bothering them they would ask them to leave and if they didn't then one would have called for security
