Its crept into his game this season trying to get the advantage by overplaying contact its just plain cheating. Yesterdays game an intial contact was slight near his cheek bone and he went down rubbing the top of his head, that was not very convincing but he did con the referee.

Don't know why he is doing this fake stuff its never really been part of his game in the past, he's normally a better player than that.

I agree with the one in the second half no idea what he was doing there, but how he is conning the referee if it should have been a penalty? It's hardly his fault the ref was too incompetent to give it. The slight contact on his cheekbone was more of a penalty than the high shot on Lomax that you kicked two points from for example.

If he goes down holding his head or throws his head back when contact is around the shoulders like players do then fair enough, but if he gets hit in the head and holds his head then how is he milking a penalty? Unless of course that is also what Sironen did and he's a cheat too?

I think you are completely way off on that one, the ref saw it was a bad one, the video ref made the call on the red card, and the disciplinary will very likely see match bans. If that becomes the case you might as well say the field ref, video ref and the disciplinary are cheats as well.

Trying to compare the Farrell v Sironen incidents is a very pathetic comparison.

But it's how this all started. Wigan fans say Sironen milked a penalty and suddenly it's turned on Farrell.

Neither were conning the ref because they were both penalties which, however, the ref originally waved play on to. If both players get up and play the ball nothing happens.

Sironen staying down gave the VR chance to look at it and advise the ref. All you hear Liam Moore say is "5". He doesn't blow up, he doesn't ask for a check. He calls the tackle and is ready to play on.

Farrell stayed down first half, but guess what.....it was a penalty which again someone clearly told Moore in his ear because he called play on.

Both were penalties and neither player "conned the ref"

Good to see the RFL reverting to type and giving Matatuia a ban for another nothing tackle. This is probably the worst one I have seen given by the RFL

Farrell clearly did and Matty Peet has admitted that, saying his players need to do better, but it's what they've been forced to do as the ref's aren't seeing them. It was such a minor touch and clearly didn't hurt him in any way. As soon as the whistle went he jumped up quicker than a kid on Christmas morning. The second one was just embarassing from Farrell and he really should get at least a warning if not a ban for that. Farrell is getting a reputation for it, which should see the referees ignoring him in future.

Sironen, for all your accusations of cheating, did go onto his hands and knees to get up and play the ball. You can then see him exhale and visibly struggle, at which point he's probably told to go down. He's had the wind knocked out of his sails there, there's no cheating from him, but savy play from whoever told him to stay down.

So one player staying down after contact is cheating, the other one is "savvy play".

One player got a touch that wouldn't keep a butterfly from flying, the other had his bell rung, they aren't comparable at all. It's savvy in the sense that you don't want a player playing the ball like that for welfare reasons, you want him getting checked out with a HIA (Which they did).

The one comparison is that they are both high tackles and should both be penalties regardless of how strong a hit it was. The rules don't give a gauge for how hard the player needs to be hit in the head, just that he needs to have been hit in the head.

Strangely enough, the referee didn't give either of them at the time.

The contact (If there was any) was jawline and below. Farrell goes down holding the top of his head, the ref is influenced by that and gives the penalty. He then dives up, suddenly and miraculously cured, smirking as he knows he's conned a penalty out of it. The second one was even worse as there wasn't any contact.

Exactly! Have you seen the tackle? Its an absolute joke. if it was the other way around and it was a wigan player receiving a ban for the tackle, I would defend them too.

However I define it he got smacked in the jawline (your words) is a penalty all day long that is how I define it and that is how the rules define it.

I do agree we dont need play acting a bit like Welsby did when he lift his standing leg up so he could milk a penalty a few games back.

The problem is Farrell is becoming a serial faker this season, went down to get a penalty in our semi final, then in the CC final went down against Huddersfield to waste time and get a penalty. Two incidents against saints last weekend we can give him the benefit of the doubt with one of them , but the other one was basically a touch on his right ear but wen down rubbing the top of his head, that was really embarrassing.

A bet Andy Farrell who won Man of Steel twice is embarrassed as well at these antics, many fans reccommend a Man of Plasticine award for the Faker or some form of White Card for this type of behaviour.

No, goes down to easy its comical. No wonder Jonny Lomax was laughing at Farrell in the recent game, Lomax has a metal plate in his head, had 2 knee reconstructions, plays with one good arm, gets hammered every week but very rarely stays down. Farrell stayed down because he had some grass stuck to his bald head.

Well as pointed out by one of your fellow fans he doesnt like the petulance shown by Welsby,who has a past history of milking a penalty,maybe he should get a award aswell,or you cannot see past your prejudice as usual.

How about when he got up last season in the Grand Final rubbing his jaw when the tackle was across his shoulder?
