Quote ="Rocknrolla69er"I suppose it depends how you look at it and what you know, i know Houghtons one of our top earners, the contract after his man of steel award put him up their amongst our top earners.
So with us going all cost effective, based on current performances and the fact hes a top earner, he could well find himself one of the first out the door, especially with A ready made replacement in Johnstone already in the building, who will be on a fraction of what Houghtons earning and has argubally performed better.
Id be interested to learn what Shaul currently earns, as if your quite savvy in the market you could argue Evalds could be a more cost effective and better performing replacement. And lets not forget about Connor Wynne who let nobody down when filling in for Shaul, another who will be on a fraction of what Shaul earns i guess.
Bowden, for me theirs still huge question marks over his fitness, i believe his knee still isnt right, probably reflected in the games hes missing inbetween, another who was awarded a contract not long ago, and wont be on pittance, im currently looking at Jack Brown coming through who i believe has it and wants it, looks like a future Hull captain to me with his attitude on the pitch, and once again you could make an argument could he outperform Bowden if given more gametime, and again on a fraction on Bowdens wage.
Id say were very much in a position to bin off the ones on inflated wages, who have either gone stagnant, or are playing crocked, or who may have question marks over mentality and attitude. And heres the thing we can improve while being cost effective
Il say it again depends how you look at it.'"
A very good post - Wynne, Brown, Johnson could be the future of our club and need proper chances to impress and will cost a whole lot less at a time we need to really cut back - Some very big name players could find themselves out of work not only at our club but around the league at the end of this season
