| Would be interesting to know how many of those who are predicting so much doom and gloom about Rugby League not being played again for months are also doing all the panic buying in stores and supermarkets which I might add is not helping the many elderly people who are going along to stores and supermarkets only to find shelves empty of essential food they need but cannot get because of the greed by the more able body people.
Hate to think how many today would have survived in a war like our parents and grandparents did in the second world war and the ten years or so after when there was food rationing.
The hysteria, panic and selfishness being shown by many in the country now is appalling, but comes as no surprise the way way the media are reporting the situation.

Of course there’s a lot of hysteria and the press love it,but I don’t think there’s any hysterics attached to the (amateur) forecast of a mid summer re start for the game will be far off though.
So far already I’ve had 4 concerts and 5 trips to the theatre which I had planned for the next couple of months reschedule on me till the autumn,so I just don’t see sport starting till July/august at the earliest based on that.

With all due respect, the elderly have 40 hours through the week where everyone is at work when they can shop, they get first dibs IMO.
Most old people have pantries anyway full of food as a hangover from the war, my grandparents did.

To be fair, I’ve found the people who complain about panic buying are the ones who actually panic buy. Just sayin

Let's hope it's plenty of them, and we can all have a good laugh! The alternative, though...

Only saying like many more sensible people that if everyone shopped as normal like my Wife and I are doing or should I say are attempting to do, there would be enough supplies for everyone, especially those who are not in a position to stockpile like many of the younger and more able bodied people are doing.

I didn't really have a problem with Leeds not going to Perpignan, however it was strange then to go ahead and play their academy game v Bradford on Saturday, doesn't seem right. I'm sure the academy players will share the same training facilities etc as the 1st team.

| If the worst was to happen and the season was scrapped how many of you would ring the club for a refund on season tickets and how many would simply take the hit and allow the club to keep the money as a donation?

I too have thought about this.
The club could keep my money. Wigan RLFC means more to me than getting a few hundred quid back.

I think we probably could afford that hit. Clubs lower down couldn’t and it’s those who will be fearing the impact

Yeah I feel like that. No point getting a refund and then putting cash in a bucket to save the club twelve months later. Might as well gift it.

While I applaud the sentiment I get the feeling,if this does drag on then will be asking for a refund as times are going to get tight for most people.
What I suspect may happen there will be some sort of “make up”scheme, half price season rickets for next season, something like that,I doubt the club would do nothing loyalty is a two way street after all

| The statement did infer that 3rd April we will hear what the RFL/SL have in mind for the future of the 2020 season.
I do hope that they can replicate today's statement by the soccer authorities that they intend completing the season's fixtures to maintain the competition's integrity.
We would then be able to enjoy the rest of the season.

| Boris' statement last night has snuffed out the last hope there was of anything being played for at least the next 3 weeks - probably until June at the earliest.

| Hopefully, the latest firmer restrictions will do the trick in ‘breaking the back of the virus’ in around 12 weeks. However, I have heard from an old acquaintance, who shall we say is well connected, that the Government were advised to indicate that time scale on purpose due to psychological reasons. The human mind will accept three months as reasonable and easy to digest. In reality, the Government are working on a much longer period of time but do not wish to say so at this stage. In practice, we will get 12 weeks down the line and then the Government will simply extend it. I sincerely hope my old friend’s tale is off the mark or we could end up with a bigger problem than currently envisaged.
