| He is awful. They are all awful. The contrast with the NRL feed is stark. There, the ex-players generally have relevant and interesting tactical points to make. Sterling especially. Here, even excellent ex-players seem only to talk in cliche. And what really gets my goat about Sky commentary: imagine that you are a newcomer just dipping into the game. The commentators never describe what's actually happening, or who the ball-carrier is, because they are too busy droning on about Saints' last match or some such. I don't expect to be told the name of every player who touches the ball, but a generally description of what's going on, as Vossy and the other Aussies do, would be very welcome. Imagine if you were a blind or sight-impaired viewer trying to follow the game! Do they ever think of that?

The Aussies are like yanks, talkers. Typically us Brits are conservative in our nature and keep our talk to a minimum and just get the point across. Yanks and Aussies tend to contextualise issues and ramble on, whilst throwing in the odd cheesy 'throw away' comment.

It truly is night and day. Vossy is very well served on Super League and my hope was Sky would make him an offer to relocate here to call Super League. Instead we are left with terrible commentators.
How Pinky and Perky are allowed anywhere near a microphone astounds me.
Kevin Walters isn't great on the Fox coverage of NRL but still manages to be better than the jokers we have.
Ray Warren and Sterling are just different level and it annoyed me that nobody at Sky Rugby League thought having Sterling in the studio when he was in Hull just to listen to his insight on the game wasn't necessary.

Wells is good. Tez and Baz are dreadful, Tez being the worst of the 2. Ive noticed due to his inability to talk, these days he continuously throws out useless stats.
Clarky is smart but seems to have gone backwards recently. He for some reason feels the need to grab attention by making bizarre & outlandish calls.
Sky should be looking at players longer term who could transition. Wilkin is an obvious one. Peacock, Big Eorl, just aren't articulate enough.

| Well at the moment we don’t have to listen to any of them.
Ever cloud I suppose, although in another few weeks (months) we might have changed our minds when we are looking back with rose tinted specs.

Why use one word when 25 will do
I always found Cullen and Iestyn Harris really annoying to listen to.
Both are clearly very knowledgeable but lack any passion in how they deliver their point.
The better commenters can lift the audience and make even a drab game seem exciting.
Maybe we should poach some Union commentators, they've been "upselling" their "product" for years
