| Fantastic crowd. Time to move SL over to Canada lock stock and barrel.
Quality rugby, knowledgeable fans and a glut of youngsters itching to join the revolution.
Well done Toronto, we love you.

| If Toronto are giving away free tickets all the time, why have the season ticket holders not at the very least had a moan about it.

They're too busy getting hammered at the back of the stand.
Also, moaning is a very English thing. Everything over there is positive, yay.

| Quote ="Ste100Centurions" A blind donkey watching on TV or even viewing the supplied photo can clearly see that the main *popular* stand had at least a few hundred seats untaken & the opposite side had easily 1,000 seats untaken. '"
I guess I'll be explaining this again for the rest of the season. Here goes (again):
Lamport Stadium, according to the city's fire regulations, is permitted to have 9600 people inside the grounds. That includes everyone you and your blind donkey can see in the beer garden at the north end and the VIP tents in the south end, everyone walking round the stadium, and everyone you and your donkey can't see because they're in the concourse under the seats or they're off having a wee.
Lamport has bleacher seating, not actual seats, so we can sit far apart or squinch up like sardines if we choose. It's also general admission, so we can sit anywhere we like.
No smoke and mirrors, my man. Just confusion from UK-based pundits who can't believe we can pull a crowd that size.
Your donkey also asked, "why give literally thousands of tickets away? One of TW officials stated last season that they give tickets away, it is fact ! How can that model work?"
Indeed, I was at that Q&A session when the comment was made. Note, that "tickets" does not automatically mean "thousands of tickets". Wolfpack does give away some free tickets - and season ticket holders get to use two free tickets for friends each season - what this does is get people who've never experienced a rugby league game before in their lives to come along and join the fun and spend money on beer & food & maybe even merch. Many of them come back for more, and pay their way. My 2018 free tickets have turned two friends into season ticket holders for 2019. And that's how the model works.
Personally, I can't wait for the Dragons/Warriors match at Camp Nou - the 2019 attendance record for both SL and the Championship will both be held by expansion teams.

Given that the crowd was near capacity, if they all come back where will next week’s freebies be accommodated?
If Bradford’s support is significantly more the Swinton’s, will they get in?

| Free tickets or no free tickets , it was an impressive turnout for a club three years into its life , a sizeable number or Toronto citizens are showing an interest in the club and the sport
Can clubs over here learn or use similar ways to build their support bases ? , Possibly some of them to a lesser degree , but ultimately it does require one thing most clubs here don't have , a billionaire , able and willing to write a blank cheque to do whatever they decide , they have got the plan right along with a couple of starters , 1 a city centre stadium , 2 a virtually guaranteed wining team , also being a ' new ' sport without history , they then are able to attract various demographics from the local population , be that a cheap day out for families , a drinking venue with a party atmosphere as well as hard core sports fans looking for off season options to Hockey
Difficult for existing UK heartland clubs to imitate , and it possibly might be for other new clubs , only time will tell

I'd expect any Bulls fans making the trip from the UK would already have bought their tickets, wouldn't you? I know when I travel to watch the Wolfpack in the UK, I always make sure to buy a match ticket in advance.

| A casual reminder that in recent years two Super League doors have flung the gates open and advertised that admission is free and could not draw a crowd as high as Toronto last night.
I don't think anyone is claiming that all tickets last night were free?

either or.....unless it's a gimmick or a 4 stop bus trip, RL fans won't attend games, especially if it involves changing buses.
London, to be fair to Hughes, are delivering players through their academy.....but Argyle and Perez are polar opposites in their vision, with the Aussie Billionaire happy to massage hs ego and buy a round at games, whilst perez has a longer term vision....THEY'RE BOTH WASTING THEIR TIME BTW......in 25 years, London as received close to £50,000,000 central funding and quite probably another £50,000,000 in personal finance.....they play out of a wedding venue, nobody knows they exists and nobody really cares.
In terms of sport........Wimbledon FC were relegated, relocated, "cloned", reborn and still get more fans to either identity than London Broncos do......how can you spend 100 million quid and ed up with just 435 season ticket holders........let that figure sink in...£100,000,000 = 435 Season ticket holders

| I really don’t believe some of utter bile being spouted on here, please tell me what is wrong with people watching a game of Rugby League? Why would any fan of the game want Toronto to fail? What has it cost any one posting on here or the club they follow? It has cost the game in the UK nothing it has shown a pathway for others to follow, if it fails what harm has it done to the rest of the teams here? I for one will try to visit if our team plays them.

I answered his second point. Bulls fans will almost all be coming over on holiday packages with Air Transat + hotel + tickets (already purchased). They will get in.
Here's a stab at answering the first point:
Assume tickets sold to Bulls fans = b.
Assume season ticket holders = s.
Assume single game tickets already sold = g.
Assume possible freebies out there - f.
Wolfpack math goes b + s + g + f = a finite number less than 9600. The difference, d, is the remaining amount Wolfpack can hold for sales during the week and/or keep back for sales at the gate.
I guess Championship clubs don't often get this close to a sell-out. Brave new world.

Serious question for you.
IIRC, the deal to pay for flights and accommodation is for League 1 and Championship sides and will cease if / when Toronto secure promotion.
Where do you think the N. American adventure leads to in 5,10 or 20 years time ?
I fully accept that money is no object for your owner(s) but, ultimately, unless there is a way of massively improving the current TV deal, which looks unlikely in the present climate, with TV companies and on line streaming services paying less and less for their content.
Where will the game actually generate the money to keep this sustainable in the longer term
It's great for Toronto to pay for the visiting teams but, at some point, they will start to feel aggrieved at doing so. What happens when that point is reached and especially if New York and/ or Ottowa make the top flight.
Just as it is impossible for Toronto fans to fly over for every Championship game, equally, with Catalan already there and Toulouse also vying for a spot in the top flight, just where do you see the future of the game.

Maybe, but doubtful.
Good to see Toronto giving it a go. I still think overseas clubs playing in SL is a novelty, but if they can be successful, you can't really knock them for it.
I wonder if Canoeman, sorry, Pandamonium will be welcome a new Liverpool team as much as he expects us to welcome Toronto?

| Seriously what happens if in 2-5 years time there is a GF or CCF containing Toronto V Catalans, Catalans V New York, New York V Toronto? It is not entirely implausible and 15,000 (non-plussed free-ticketed) fans at OT will be great for the game.
