I doubt he is but hardly the actions of a man who is supposed to love the Club. If he did that it's extremely unlikely there will ever be another (pro) Leigh club.

Do you mean he wasn't suffering at Dewsbury, like the rest of us then? I hope someone was there, in an 'official capacity' to represent our club!

We've signed Jake Webster which is an unbelievable signing IMO. Also signed a winger from Hunslet who i can't see playing much and Jon Margrin from Sheffield. Rumoured with Brad Dwyer and Sam Hopkins. Suspect a few championship clubs will also ne waiting to see of Toronto earn promotion and pick up some players they release. We're a very young squad so hopefully can grow as a team. A few more young players breaking through too. York i think will go well too next year.
But we have to beat Workington first which is one hell of a tough task.
On Leigh, i hope they sort it, christ knows we know how it feels. Dire situation at the moment though.

Truly appreciate the words of support BM. I've been taking a lot of notice of what Bulls fans are saying, as you've all "been there, done that, got the t-shirt etc!"
We have no idea how dire our situation is. Since the owner's multi-page statement, a few months ago, literally nothing has been said by the club. All we've had from them is the odd squad announcement (nearly always wrong) and match report. (containing further 'inaccuracies') Having been part of a team that built up our communications from virtually zero, to something pretty enviable, a few seasons ago, that, frankly, incenses me! If they are hell-bent on making the situation worse, by alienating a reasonable support base, they are certainly going about that, the right way!
Here's hoping we can renew our 'hostilities' with you guys next season. (ON the pitch, that is, and not in the boardroom! )

| Quote ="Mr Dog"Well, with a following wind ie Leeds making Briscoe and Newman available on DR, Fev will probably name 16, of which 1 will be very unlikely to get on the pitch, 1 will be struggling from the moment he comes on and a further 1 will probably be hoping he doesn't have to do too many minutes. The 2 remaining fit props in the squad have rotated by taking it in turns to do 80mins the last 2 games. =#FF0000So probably nowhere near as one sided as you suggest.'"
If we are in anything like the state we were in last Sunday, it WILL be one-sided. I think Reynolds should be back for Leigh, maybe one of Adam Walne/Mason, maybe Dawson-Jones (if he gets paid!), maybe Cox, if he isn't working. To balance that, Dagger will be out, and I hope Higham recovers from Dewsbury!
Was it only two you had suspended?

| Surely the RFL could allow leigh or featherstone bring in BARLA players or 'free agents' for this game. Even allowing for any payments that may not be forthcoming, as long as they are insured, this is best the solution in my opinion.

This was my thought aswell. Dont quote me on this but im sure years ago a SL team was allowed a dispensation after the deadline because of injuries etc. I cant see why a dispensation cant be applied in this case

What a ridiculous and embarrassing situation, which could only be made worse by the RFL insisting this fixture should be fulfilled.
Yes, obviously it would set a precedent but this surely calls for some common sense.

| It's certainly been the craziest of crazy seasons for these two clubs.
At the outset, both will have had genuine aspirations for making the 4 and Leigh possibly expecting to have another shot at SL.
Ultimately, the rapid rise up the table by everyone's "favourite" expansion club, Toronto, "stole" one of the coveted top 4 spots, with London taking the other and then the brown stuff started to fly.
It's certainly a sad state of affairs when one or both clubs will struggle to field a 17 man squad and it has to be asked how this could have been avoided this season and then to make damn sure that it cant happen again.
As for the game itself, just how much appetite is there for a tight hard fought final, when both sides are down to (and probably have less than) the bare bones of a squad.
Fev will probably win the game but, there are far more important issues to sort out, both for the sport and the 2 clubs involved.
Lets hope that we get a decent game between 2 very proud RL clubs.

| Imagine the scenario were Leigh are forced to take the field with 9 men (against Featherstone's 11, let's say). The winner of the game would be the team that managed to keep at least 9 men on the pitch. If a Leigh player got injured in the first 5 minutes the game would have to be abandoned. Surely the RFL has a duty to avoid this type of scenario and let common sense prevail. It was a tinpot trophy to start with, so would it really be the end of the world if the game was not played?

How is it the RFL’s fault? The position Leigh Centurions are in is solely down to Mr Beaumont

| I remember when Bradford Northern were really scratching around for players and had a Challenge Cup Semi-Final to play against Wigan. We played the odd young man that was never seen before or since but we raised a team. And what's more we were right in with a shout of winning it up until the last 5 minutes, eventually going down 71-10.
I do think for player welfare there should be a simple rule of 15 players turning up or it doesn't get played. It's a hard enough sport as it is for the brave lads that play it, without them having to risk injury slogging their guts out without the full compliment of men.

The above from the Leigh statement highlights why expansion is so vital for the game. Leigh have a decent passionate following for a Championship club, yet nobody has even shown an interest in taking them over. Why is that the case? IMO it’s because millionaires are not interested in owning a small town Rugby League club. Rugby League must expand to survive.

If you recall, the early 90s was the era of the 61 point try. It was 10 all until late on. I may have wiped some of the trauma from my mind but I reckon that's what it was.

I was asking 'genuine supporters' of our game, not YOU !
To other RLFANS members who aren't a constant 'pain in the bum'.
"The RFL could have assisted in the matter, allowing BOTH sides to sign up amateurs for this 'pointless' plate final...whoever it's fault it is."
In the statement the club issued, the club has medical proof that we currently have eight players out injured. (obviously you have not read it)
