All teams are doing it now - it's a cynical exploitation of the referee's approach to player welfare, and is often used to take the energy out of an attack, allow the defence to regroup, and wind down some time.

I had this discussion with the Huddersfield interim coach on Twitter recently; he vehemently denied that RL players feign injury to gain an advantage - I think he was being either dishonest, or totally naïve.

It used to happen mostly during drop outs. A defender would kick or throw the ball away, another would drop to his knees, a couple more would take an age to get back behind the line. Now it's creeping in to most aspects of the game.

Thats another thing they were doing they were warned 3 times about throwing the ball away, maybe the ref should have been stronger in that aspect.

It's only a matter of time before we bring in a shot clock I think, certainly for drop outs. I'm surprised it has taken this long tbh.

Leeds very much in the relegation battle now, as are any team that are in that bottom 4 come round 23. Thankfully we know are fate now and can put all our efforts into preparing for the M8s.

Did any Catalans players murder anybody last night? It's just all i'm seeing on twitter is how they're a disgrace and should be banned from the league. I can only assume that some sort of homicide occurred that I am not aware of.

Yeah they fully deserved to win and won regardless but the last 10 or 15 minutes went so against whatever spirit we have in Rugby League that we can't just ignore it. I don't know what the solution is but clearly professional pride and not wanting the other team to sense your weakness or see you are hurt are no longer enough.

Some of there players played like somebody had tried to murder them.

Where are the highlights? The version on "Leeds TV" only shows scores with a cheesy elevator music background.

Love all these self righteous posts from Leeds fans, I seem to remember the Leeds players deliberately shaking the posts at a playoff semi final at the DW to try and prevent a match winning touchline conversion.

I haven't seen one post by any Leeds fan saying the reason we lost was because of the Cats tactics

So we'll expect similar faux outrage when Leeds are caught out "doing a naughty".

Were you at the game? Yes if Leeds carried on like cats did I would be the first to condemn it, fine if you want the game down thatcroad but it’s certainly not what I want in the game, it needs cslling out when it happens.

Which hame and incident? And did leeds doing it constantly for 15 minutes?

This has been happening in Rugby League for decades, I remember being told to do this kind of thing when I was 12, that was 17 years ago. The only thing which might have changed is that the players nowadays aren't as committed to the theatrical aspect of it and not trying to hide what they are doing.

Are you saying that your precious Leeds never do anything against the rules. You need to get over it, it happens at every club all the time.

People need to understand what happened here - it wasn't shaking the posts (seriously, Wigan need to get over the way Leeds schooled Wigan back then). It was genuinely unwatchable - player is tackled. Stays down. Referee stops clock. Physio comes on. Player slowly gets up, clock is put back on, he plays ball and is instantly fine. That was every other Catalan tackle for 15 minutes plus some when they were the defending team.

Leeds were already down and out but this was one of the most astonishing periods of play I've ever seen on an RL field. It also probably cost Catalan the chance to win more convincingly.

I was unimpressed with how the ref allowed 2nd efforts all night and allowed catalans to be offside all night. Shocking referee with no balls. Can't blame the players as they will do it if they get away with it.

No you can blame the players it was the players feigning injury and it needs stopping whichever side that does it
