| Rod Studd tweeting it’s 100% not Catalans. A few rumours of going to Union to be the defensive coach for Scotland or even England seem to be going round.
Wane spoke of new challenges and a new direction so it wouldn’t surprise me. He also spoke about how tough the last two years in the Wigan job have been with him being under huge pressure to win things whilst battling player departures and a bad injury list (until this season touch wood), so a few years kicking back in Union teaching players how to do the ‘pile on’ may be just what he needs.
He’s done an incredible job all things considered.

He is not going to the NRL then.

| If Shaun Wane goes to Catalans, to join Samuel Tomkins and Michael McIlorum, then expect the Catalans to be a top 4 side in 2019.
But I think that it is important for David Mead to be full back, Anthony Gigot to be centres, and Samuel Tomkins to be in the halves with Joshua Drinkwater.

| Wigan is Wanes family, flesh and blood. He isn't a 'career' kind of bloke. If he's done, that's it.

He didn't actually say it was the job in the last 2 years that had particularly bothered him I don't think?
Don't under estimate how much personal/family stuff over the last Few years may have had on him and I think this was a Big part of that statement.
I think maybe a lot of fan criticism may have got to him (As your usual experts have been quick to put the knife in whenever possible rather than look at the job he's done as a whole) but I don't think having to deal with injuries or player losses etc. bothered him to that extent, I always think he looked upon that as a challenge.

Yes, but I think that his contract can be torn up if he doesn't get better results from his star studded team.
Bernard Guasch might even be willing to pay out Steven McNamara's contract.

He will move to a director of rugby role and oversee recruitment etc similar role to radlinski at Wigan.
Wane will be head coach of Catalan in 2019, mark my words. I dont care what Rod Studd says.

| Wane to Catalans sounds a good shout. Taking them from a rock bottom position the only way is up so he can't really lose and you always felt with the right man there they should be knocking on the door of the top 4 again like when Robinson was in charge.

| Cokey, this will not be allowed to happen. You don't agree to sign Sam Tomkins (Wigan Marquee player) if you might get relegated. Sam wouldn't agree to it, and our French Barbarians wouldn't waste all that money, whilst playing in the championship.

| Catalans is one of the most important clubs in the Super League, along with Leeds, Wigan, St Helens, Warrington, Hull FC and Castleford. Its survival in SL is critical for the credibility of the competition.

He as well as talking the usual rubbish is basically saying that a few clubs in "mainly" northern towns that the wider world has never heard of are the most important clubs in super league. The same person/persons who wants the game to go global. excelled yourself again joan.

No they are not. They are a championship team in the wrong league.
The only importance they have is that they are making all the other teams look good.

| The point that the esteemed Gentleman is trying to make is that we need a presence in France. We don’t need Leigh in super league because St Helens and Warrington bring enough of a presence in the north west.

You are flat wrong on this. We need a presence in France for our game to have any credibility internationally. That means two French clubs in Super League at the absolute minimum. Four (i.e Catalans, Toulouse, Avignon and Paris). would make the game look even more credible. Toulouse is waiting for the promotion that will start the rugby league ball rolling in France, and it must join up with the 8,000 + fan base of Catalans, bringing its own 8-10,000 to games by its third year of Super League. Once this has been achieved the French can get corporate sponsorship and the TV coverage every week that the game needs.

Whilst yes the international game does lack credibility, one or two French teams in SL won't change that.

| For what it's worth I think its more important to the game that the Dragons team in the French league is challenging for the title.
For the game to be better, countries need their own competitive league structure with SL Europe at the top as the pinnacle.
