Not our greatest away following but can you really blame fc fans, especially with kids at school next day having to suffer the nightmare of the m62? Diversions mean many won't get back to hull til around 2am. I did a shift swap otherwise i would have stayed home and watched it on tv too

Why are Super league clubs obsessed with Friday night games ? YES I know, Sky televise a thursday and a friday game. You can't beat a Sunday afternoon....there would only be more fans, not less attending games.

Leeds do better corporate numbers on Friday. Add in the most popular home fixtures against the better teams are always on Sky with us.

Very fair point. I used to go to all the games home and away pre SL but that was when all games were on a sunday at 3pm bar the one SKY friday night game. This thursday night business is pretty much a write off for most fans unless it is a game against a local team.

Fair point regarding the attendance, but I guess the club are just about hanging on & hoping for a change of fortune when some of the young lads break through.

Also when it comes to Leeds with them being on tv so often then giving yourself 5 day turnarounds playing Sunday then Friday isn't as good for players as having a more usual Friday - Friday turnaround.

Lets face up to facts while certain teams and rightfully so clubs like mine come up for constant criticism about crowds it's time to face up to the fact that crowds are generally and worryingly especially away crowds in terminal decline, tonight for instance sounded like half a dozen teenagers in a town centre after a night on the lash.

Not knocking Hull FC it is pretty much everyone now.

Hull and hull kr shouldn't be playing clubs from west of the pennines on a thursday night with a 7.45pm kick off. Keep it to clubs with around 1 hour travelling time

Maybe Hull fc and Hull kr could set up their own East Yorkshire League, if the likes of Widnes is too far to travel.

Goodness knows how football fans travel to opposite ends of the country midweek.

To be fair wirh the M62 over the last few years, flying to istanbul is quicker. Once the endless divertions road closures and road works are done then it should be ok. But a 90minuite journey from Hull to widnes us presently a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive.

As a Leeds fan i don't want us to switch from Fridays, thats game day for me. Leeds gave historical all time high average attendances, since switching to fridays.

In all honesty Widnes could have been playing Bradford last night and the attendance wouldn't have been any higher.
Thursday night games are always going to be poorly attended unless there's barely any traveling to be done. There's a reason why the RFL began subsidising the away support travel on Thursday nights.

Widnes v Hull will never get a great crowd purely because of the 240 mile round trip Hull fans would have to make. Scheduling it for a Thursday night just makes absolutely no sense to me, and proves that Sky don't care about the gates.

Very little to do with away support, if it was sunday afternoon would there suddenly by an extra 3k hull fans travel over. The fact is Widnes Salford etr attract less than 3500 home fans most weeks regardless of when the game is played. That is shocking for a top tier RL side.

Have Toronto Wolfpack ever had an attendance figure as low as this? Genuine question, I don’t know the answer to.
