| Quote ="Biff Tannen"To be fair Wigan were the benifactors of the recent speight of non action from the refs regards high shots, i don't think Amor would have walked otherwise.'"
To be fair Wigan were also the victims of one of those non actions against Leeds.
As for the red I'd blame the system rather than Thaler. A prime example of why the VR should be used in cases where serious foul play is suspected. If you watch the camera angle which is the direction Thaler viewed it from it was a nailed on red. My first thoughts, an I'm sure many other people's were that it was a bad one and a red. Subsequent camera angles show that first contact was not high and he slipped up in contact. On replays I don't think it was even a yellow but those weren't my first thoughts.

| At first glance it seemed bad, but then on replay it was clearly at chest height and slipped up which was why the Wigan player shrugged it off. If it had been as bad as it misleadingly appeared the player would be sparko. So it's one of those wierd ones where the referee has been decisive, but unfortunately it was a bad decision. Let the video ref look at these things, and if the interpretation is going to be hardline then that's fine but it has to be consistent and we're going to have to accept regular sending offs in games.
It's a shame the ref wasn't as hardline on the ruck and play the ball. Both sides did it, but I think Wigan in particular were guilty of slowing down the ruck and not having markers square, which was wierd given they had a man advantage. SL desperately needs two referees to cut this out as it's getting boring now.

Quote ="ThePrinter"Interesting the talk at HT about the VR possibly being used for these incidents of late. I don't believe they have been used but they have in the past, Joel Moon got sent off vs Saints in 2014 after the on field ref asked the VR to view a challenge.'"
Plenty of previous;
Sam Moa sent off against London in 2012 despite the fact it showed that the 'high' tackle hit the shoulder and the whiplash affect was because of the impact to the shoulder not to the head but sent off from that.
Gareth Raynor in attempting to dislodge the ball in a bradford/Wigan CC encounter smashed rat boy in the chops so Ganson basically used the video replay to send him off.

The Sam Moa one was a definite red. Shoulder to the head.

| As was Raynor. Cynical & deliberate in my book. Although he could have claimed diminished responsibility as it was on Tomkins.
Amor's was also red. Otherwise it will become acceptable to decapitate anyone as long as you hit lower down first then onto the head. I accept, in Amor's case, any ban should reflect the accidental nature of the incident.
