Castleford for me have been the best performing club over the past 3 years considering your financial restrictions. I think Daryl Powell and his staff have done an outstanding job and he must be on the Leeds radar again if the situation at Headingley doesn't improve vastly in 2017. I know it didn't work as planned first time when Powell was less experienced but there must be some unfinished business in the back of his mind. If I was Castleford I'd be trying to get him to extend his contract beyond 2019 because the longer he has on it the larger the compensation will be.

If true, think that will be his career over. He's had chance after chance. Think he's running out of clubs to play for and I don't think any will touch him now.

From the incident described, sounds serious and wouldn't rule out him spending time at inside.

I remember the swap deal - Scott Moore to WTW and Paul McShane to Tigers. That worked out well.

Indeed. We got rid of a fat, lazy, slug of a player in McShane.

And you gained a player who can drag you through the mud, great deal.

Cas Tigers sign 19 year old wing/centre Tuoyo Egodo from London Bronco's.

Paul was the first to admit he struggled to get fully up to speed fitness wise when he moved to the Tigers. He couldn't believe the difference in fitness levels at his new club - probably something to do with the ancient systems in place at his old club. After a couple of months adjustment we have a fully-fit player who does long minutes, played out of position at half-back very admirably and has had a superb 2016 season along with Adam Milner sharing the hooking role. He's been great for us.

I wasn't thrilled when we swapped Moore for McShane but Macca has been an ever present this year for Cas and got better as the year has gone on. Obviously a decent pro, very smart head on him and truth be told, his quality has pushed Milner to 13. Hats off to Powell on that one.


Can any London fans provide any thoughts on the chap a have just signed ?

McShane was out of shape and out of form, Wakefield needed somebody who was better at the time last year and McShane wanted out of the club which was failing, so the better short-term deal was in Wakey's favour

Moore is a great player when he wants to be, but the lad also seems to have demons off the pitch which have probably finally ruined him.

McShane arrived in poor condition from Leeds of all clubs. He left in poor condition. Credit must go to Powell for weaning him off black pudding and the Bakewell tarts.

You are still missing Rangi Chase from Cas' signings for next year (especially as you are including Larne Patrick who has been at the club much longer).

rangi chase signed for castleford in the 2016 season. and larne was on loan in 2016 and has now completed his move permanently from Huddersfield for the start of 2017

Nope. Wrong on both counts.
Larne Patrick's loan ended in June and when he transferred to Castleford permanently. He would have been eligible to play against Huddersfield if the clubs had faced each other in the Super 8s.
Chase, on the other hand, only signed a short-term deal to the end of 2016. His new contract is exactly that.

Young hooker Kriss Brining from York to Salford confirmed by Marwan on Twitter. Not sure on length of contract though.
