The Red Devils has been treading water for years. Marwan Koukash will get it right sooner or later.
As far as I'm concerned the more money men we have in Rugby League the better.'"
If you try something enough times and for long enough, the laws of probability dictate that eventually you will get it right but the bare facts are Salford are spending more money on better players for exactly the same result. In fact, they have on paper arguably their most impressive squad in 30 years yet are in real danger of going down.
I don't mind money men but Koukash comes across as someone who's answer to everything is not to sort the problem but throw money at it and if that doesn't work throw more money at it and if anyone questions you, or doesn't agree with you, don't talk or discuss just get rid. A master of self promotion but incapable of promoting Salford because it is his name that he wants to see in the media not the clubs.
I doubt that Tim Sheens will fare any better than Harris or Noble because, like Noble, he knows the game & will have his own idea's which will get him replaced if they don't match Koukash's and lets face it, Sheens isn't an idiot so has little chance of agreeing with Koukash.
I do feel sorry for the Salford fans and wish them the best. It's not pleasant watching your team constantly under perform especially if you don't see an end in sight.

| Harris deserves everything he gets. He had a hissy fit at Warrington and refused to play, then all the murky Leeds-Bradford business and then stabbing Noble in the back.
Karma.

| Would Harris and McDermott have played together at Bradford?
And Harris used to car-share with Sinfield when they played at Leeds together, along with Barrie Mac. There are plenty of Leeds-Harris links, and friendships, despite the Bradford saga.

'" No, McDermott had retired by then. But no doubt he and most people in RL know what's happened to Harris; he has been the only person with the job security and conviction to speak out about it and about Koukash's other recent behaviour. I expect several of the Leeds squad will have heard blow by blow accounts from Ben Jones Bishop or Liam Hood.

| The only thing unprofessional about this is that it wasn't done sooner. Koukash needed to be ousted in the media as quite frankly his petulant cry baby attitude was shameful. Well done Brian Mac.n

| If Salfords players are not giving 100% then they are taking money under false pretences because that is not professional. It dosn't matter what the boss says, he wouldn't have to if they were doing their job. It would seem they are not.
If being shouted at and being called names etc, really upsets you, then you have a problem, but help is available. You could also change jobs if you don't the company you are working for like other people do.
Just remember, he who pays the piper calls the tune. If you don't like the tune, pay more or find someone who will play your tune at the price you want to pay.
FWIW there is no right answer to this kind of situation, people react in different ways as has been shown, just by the comments on this forum and Mr McDermotts comments.(I wonder if as a marine, his officers talked nice cool and calmly )

Exhibit A:
Now exhibit A has invested an estimated £16,000,000 since 2008, taking London from a 7th placed SL club with Northern Clubs sniffing around our young prospects, playing out of a purpose built Rugby Ground and with about 4,000 fans..........to 660 fans, 7th in the 2nd tier and homeless AGAIN at the end of this year. That figure again....£16,000,000
Exhibit A has had help from key employees during this tenure. As CEO Blanchard was clueless, but made his replacement MacKay look like Bill Gates by comparison whilst 3 key coaching appointments by Hughes were Powel (19% win rate), Rea(32%) and Grima(11%).
Having money (and the exact level of investment by the good Dr is nowhere near that of Hughes.....did I mention the £16,000,000) is not enough. Koukash has blamed everyone for the failings at the club and until he employs a decent CEO to run the business, he'll continue to fail and blame everyone else.

Just using a relevant example of how it takes more than money and passion to develop a decent RL business and I was responding specifically to the claim that if he keeps plugging away Koukash will get it right eventually.
Remember W-Q, London under Hughes Tenure have given away tickets, blamed the fans for not turning up, changed their name, complained about the ground they rented, signed "names" who failed to deliver and chronically underperformed resulting in a series of 2nd bottom finishes before relegation......it's like history repeating itself.
By the way, I am not Gutterfax, but I am sure he'd be flattered that you miss him!

Someone's "100%" is a variable thing. It varies with numerous factors both physical and mental. In the same way as a clubs conditioners are there to prepare the players to get the most out of them (predominantly) physically, a clubs leaders are at least partly responsible for the mental side of things. If you want a player's "100%" to be higher then treat them well and get them to "buy in" to the club. If you want to treat players like sh|t then their "100%" is likely to be lower.
It's the same as in any job, if you properly motivate your workforce you'll have a much more efficient and effective organisation than if the only motivation is through threats and negative motivation techniques.
I'd also imagine the vast majority of officers McDermott encountered in the Royal Marines spoke coolly and calmly. They're trained to do so for good reasons.

| I have a question then.
In your opinion and based on the factual data available, how much has the improved engagement with the fans (note...not the clique) improved things for the club as a viable professional business.
Please also refer to the number of long term fans on here who have said that if the club move to Trailfinders Sports Grounds, that they will no longer follow them even though they are now apparently re-engaged and to St Joey of Parra in referencing the newfound engagement, as it is he who you hold 100% responsible for the players and fans interacting at the end of a game.

For some reason he has copied a post of mine from the london forum......given his recency, I'd suggest a newbie mistake of straight forward trolling.
