Castlefords new Stadium project is based on highly speculative finances and large amounts of wishful thinking on the the planning application. I obviously didn't listen to me with the Glasshoughton project so I suppose it's a waste of time pointing out the obvious pitfalls of this pipe dream.

Well, the government aren't calling it in and have handed the prject back to the council so that's step one out of the way.

As for finances, based on the companies due to sign up those aren't an issue either.

But hey, it's more of a pipe dream than the Trojan horse for warehousing you call Newmarket right?

I still remember Oakwell being the answer many years ago but they only played one game ther to appease the RFL at the time and went back to Belle Vue.

Have you noticed that NRL clubs are playing at their former grounds where feasible.

Perhaps the people who run the game may not be the experts they thought they were/are!

Why worry about Wakefield? They are headed for the Championship anyway.

Mind you, it would be good for Wakefield to have a stadium that is at least of Championship quality for the 2016 or 2017 seasons.

The Lateral Property MD was on the pitch today at HT giving an update on planned construction dates, etc, flanked by the Wakey Wildcats favourite counciller Peter Box, giving plaudits to Yvette Cooper. Sure Wakey fans will be pleased with that!

The only thing they’re pleased about is that they don’t have to endure your smugness on a daily basis.

Are Cas fans able to take any pleasure in their stadium development plans, without the added spice of hoping it upsets Wakefield fans?

Oh come on, I'm just taking the mick re: how Wakefield always think Peter Box is conspiring against them, when he's just doing his job. I hope for one that Wakefield find a way to get in on this stadium somehow, whether it's shared, but the council isn't your enemy here.

He says the Wakefield stadium is nowt to do with him or the council and won't even communicate with anyone from the club or the stadium trust yet he's on the field at Cas dry bumming the bloke from Lateral.

If it helps I'm taking no pleasure till the bugger is built. As for Wakefield, all the best, there is no prize for having a new ground first...(once upon a time it looked that way).

Granted I can see why some Cas fans appear smug, but I'm guessing its a reaction to the bitter comments from 1 or 2 wakey fans.
