However, I didn't expect Clark to win it based on performances in big games at the back end of the year. He didn't really do anything in the cup final, the Catalans game that could have won Cas the league or either of the play-off games.

Clark has the ability to completely change games - it's incredibly unfair to criticise him for a few odd matches. Cas wouldn't have achieved what they did this year without him.

The MoS shortlist was arrived at via a vote by the players.

However, the selection from that shortlist is by a panel consisting of two ex-players and two media stooges.

Not quite, the top 3 or 4 players with the most votes are shortlisted, and the winner is selected by a committee (of secret people, who meet in a secret place at a secret time).

All 4 had a good case for winning it this year so you can't argue with the choice. well done clark, top year.

Leeds players never win it. Cas players have won it 3 times in super league era Leeds only once. What's that all about. Clarke is a poor choice as stated Roby has been far better. And peacock and hill head and shoulders above him.

Well if we're just going on the best player in the big game, James Roby wins it. Peacock didn't really do much in Leeds's play-off defeat. Fact is it is the best play throughout the whole season. If we had a system similar to the Dally M, Clark would have won it IMHO

All 4 could have won it, and I wouldn't have complained at any of the 4 scooping it.

Which Leeds player deserved to win it in the last 15 years and in what year?

Just for all you I'll informed keyboard warriors making claims about Widnes:

We did beat a SL team to get to the semi final (Salford away)

Scraped into the play offs ? In fact we made the play offs by quite a bit and we were never out of the top 8 all year - some achievement for a club who finished bottom 2 years ago

Not made strives with the academy ? The only teams who were voted to have a better academy were St Helens and Wigan, this years two Grand finalists. We were tied with Warrington just behind. Another great effort

The fans situation was horrendous for the club. However we reacted with great professionalism in eradicating these fans and banning them, apart from that we have some of the best fans (true fans) in the league. Definitely the loudest and the only ones creating an atmosphere on the first day of the magic weekend

No Leeds player deserved it imo but my point is if there was some kind of bias there would be at least one case of a Leeds player winning the award i would say.

Like who for instance? And what year? I'm struggling to think of any Leeds player who merits the award, and definitely not in recent seasons when the team and its players (bar none) have tossed it off relentlessly throughout the regular seasons. Prior to the tossing it off mentality being embraced, they played as a team where the whole was greater than the individual parts.

Not sure Clarke would have won a Dally M award if that style of award was run this year. It's based on the best 3 players after each game.

Pretty sure Snyed was the big cheese for Cas at the start of the year and so he may have snaffled some of the votes, off Clarke.

Same for Roby, he would have probably lost points to Walsh early on and maybe Lomax too.

Were as at say somewhere like Huddersfield, Brough stands out as one on his own so may have gathered more top points over the season.

Peacock would have been more than worthy this and last year.like i say though, no qualms at the actual winners from me.
