| Ahh, it was all handbags.
Our leigh player ruffed him up and the tactic almost worked.
Who cares ?? If he got a red, Leeds would have lost but it was just some red mist on what was a fantastic rugby match between 2 sides with apparently completely different levels of ability.
I like Peacock, and even though you cannot condone what he did he stands no messing.
He has been complimentary to Leigh ever since and you cannot knock him for that.

| Carney and peacock would be a good do. Carney gave Bateman a slap in March and was fined. He then retaliated last month and got a ban. Has peacock wacked anyone this year prior to Friday? Probably not.

Well I'm shocked

| One bloke has a pretty clean disciplinary record, one has form and previous bans fresh in the memory of the beaks for punching so it's a Leeds conspiracy? Really? Is that the best the foil hat brigade can muster?

As I said above...... If you had a conviction for GBH, would you be expected to stand there and get your face smashed in if somebody attacked you ???

You are missing the point by quite a wide margin.
Using your GBH example, if you had a conviction for GBH and had 5 times been up in court for GBH would you expect a harsher sentence than someone who has never been up for GBH and never been done for it?

I fail to see how that's relevant? In sport and in society, repeat offenders are treated more harshly than first time offenders.
Quote ="Snowy"Our leigh player ruffed him up and the tactic almost worked.'"
Really? I'd argue it had the opposite effect. Peacock returned to the field and made two clean breaks, one of which led to a try.

First time Paddy Flynn was charged and up at a disciplinary, for the scrap with Carney, two game ban, so you can't really use a 'first offence leniency' as an excuse.
Lets let the facts help to prove a conspiracy.

But the poster before said Carney was provoked, ergo it was Paddy Flynn who 'started it' this probably why he got banned.
Every case should be looked at on its own merits.
The facts are, peacock was hit with a swinging arm and an aggressive use of the head whilst on the floor, h e got up and swung a few, unfortunately for Matt Sarsfield Peacock is fairly handy and copped a good right hander.
Sin binning sufficient was easily the correct decision.

| The Carney/Flynn scrap is shown on the SLTV highlights of the game, no worse than Peacock hitting two separate players when 'provoked'.

And both players were given the same initial charge - perhaps Flynn had a case to argue also?
Instead he took an early guilty plea. We'll never know.

| What I find a touch bazare is according to the RFL disciplinary board, you punch someone, and can receive a £300 fine....break someone's jaw and get a 3 match ban,... but utter a childish insult that offends the PC Brigade and receive a 5 match lay off.
I should imagine that in all dressing rooms this week, the final advice of the Coach will be...."Keep it zipped, and let your fists do the talking!"

I think you'll find there was no special dispensation and it is allowed under the current rules. Other than that you are correct.

you are wrong.
[iRovers were allowed 'special dispensation' earlier this season to remove the then injured Dobson off their register to bring in Mason.
It allowed them to effectively rotate an overseas quota position in their squad between the two players.
However, RFL rules say that players who are de-registered should not be allowed to play for the same club again that season.

I agree.
Next we'll be having players running up to the teacher, sorry the ref and saying ....."Sir, did you hear what he just said?".

I'm sure a pro RL coach has told his team to keep their mouths shut and their fists down. But he couldn't keep a straight face while he said it. And then he told his players to crush their opponents into the ground.
