Current truths?
The Current truth is that the current SL deal has 3 years to run and is less than the respective AND CURRENT deal for Union. To ease this pain, certain insecure RL fans (that's you BTW) will harp on about the NEW deal being bigger than the current union deal, ignoring the fact that the Union deal will be renegotiated in a couple of years time at which stage, 40 million a year might not look so sexy.
But, there I go again, drifting off into the future. As I say, currently, SL TV's deal isn't as big as the current Union deal.
As for the RLWC legacy
FU Superleague at what 'COULD BE' worth 750k a year is half the CURRENT sponsorship deal that Saracens RU have. Sammy-Gate with the RFU sniffing around a PR opportunity was the landing page story of the BBC when I posted it (nice choice to delay in answering), Bradford did go into administration, the RFL are paying the landlord of the London Broncos, the owner of the champions and one of the new money men in the game are questioning the business acumen of the sport "in the media" and the BBC's deal to show "live" international RL looks like being allocated a Sunday morning breakfast spot in 2014.
Yep.....SL XIX started at the weekend and the biggest positive was that 4 ex-London Broncos from 2013 were on show........amazing what a change of scenery can do for players!
By the way, questions regarding the RFL making payments to the Landlord of the Broncos should be directed to either the club or to the RFL. All I know was it was announced during a fans forum at the weekend.......apparently he's supposed to market the team with it, which I find strange given he gets to keep the gate receipts.

Sky dont release the games for the later part of the season until they know who is performing well and what the bigger "pulls" will be.

You're doing it again, just like you always do when things aren't quite going your way.
If we want to benchmark RL then do it against RL not other sports like RU, Football or NFL.
You were quite happy to prattle on about there being "no legacy" barely 2 weeks after the WC ended and now that things are actually starting to happen you're back to prattling on about other sports again.
At least you try
And do you really think I went into hiding until the main page of the BBC's website was updated? Jesus christ that's the most insecure thing i've ever read on here.

Yeah well done, I mentioned another sport once in the 9-10 times i've brought up the TV deal but it was more than justified on this occasion.
Keep trying though, you'll get there one day. Just don't mention the WC or it's "legacy" and you'll be fine.

| One positive legacy of the £5 cheapo-ticketed RLWC appears to have been the shelving of the International Origin Exiles series, though it is noted that neither Big Nige nor anyone else at Red Hall has made any announcement re: it's demise. Apart from the fact that it was a crap idea in the first place and hardly anyone was interested in the idiotic concept, I guess there would be a huge problem selling any tickets for England/Exiles fixtures now the legacy pricing bar has been set at £5 for RLWC games. They'd have had to pay fans to attend surely?

| Put the likes of London on in games where they have a chance of getting a result against lower teams such as Wakey Cas Widnes etc. and if they are going to be on against bigger teams show them at home where they are less likely to get a pasting

London Broncos Squad last year had a collective 2,500+ first grade games across the 30......this year, I believe that figure is below 250.
I'd be quite happy for us not to be on TV at all in 2014....Leeds away is going to have to carry an over 18's censorship warning
