What is the point you are trying to make? That Warrington are the reason that tomkins is the player he is? That tomkins is'nt really a Wigan player?

u12 and played for Pats from then until he was signed by Wigan.

FWIW the amount of Wigan trained players currently plying their trade in SL is unmatched by any team.

The funniest thing about threads thrown up after last nights team selection is that we have had very little other than praise from Widnes. It's the bitter twisted fans from other clubs who have been chucking vitriol.. Really funny, made my day

Tis a great thread though, watching Wigan fans stroking each others stallions.

Not sure what the criteria is but St Helens and Leeds have actually been winning Grand Finals with teams made up of Academy products for many years. Nice to see Wigan catch up finally. The more the merrier.

Leeds Academy products hold 6 Harry Sunderlands from the GF era if you want quality over quantity.

Us Wiganers can always be assured that the biggest "stallions" will be elsewhere...

Yes, Howarth & Tomkins are playing other positions now, but both came through as halfbacks.

Yep, it's a shame the town can't produce talent like Warrington born Stefan Ratchford.

How many other teams (apart from Wigan) have played every game with no less than ten academy produced players in their team?

How many teams have played games with fourteen academy produced players in their team?

All this and they still can't win owt.

Considering only 9 (You could actually technically argue it was only 7 as Hardaker was signed at 18 and spent time in the academy and on-loan at Fev, and Richard Moore is a Leeds academy product but in his 2nd spell with the club, but its a pretty pointless argument) of Leeds squad haven’t come through the Leeds academy I’d assume that the vast majority of Leeds sides put out this year have included at least 10 Leeds developed players, if not more.
