They have also forgottten the French stars Casty and Fakir (who could smash tackle anybody and break the best defences) as well as living legend Steve Menzies.

I don't see how anyone could include Renouf based on 1 season in SL when he was clearly passed his best, (he was very good though) above Senior, Newlove or Hape.

But we are comparing hens and ducks.

If it was based on someone who had been great all their SL career there would be no Fielden etc

Offiah was at his best pre SL.

Vainikolo was poor for a couple of seasons before he went to Ru etc etc

Renouf, even when past his best, still "passed his best" as you put it, for Wigan. His passing to his outside supports really was superb. In so doing, he was superior to Senior, Newlove, and especially the hapless and often unhappy Hape.
