Would it be wise for them to do that though?
They'd be peeing off over half of the super league clubs.

I thought that, correct me if im wrong.
So, by guaranteeing one clubs super league status while every other clubs can be revoked at any time gives them an unfair advantage.
We all want bradford to survive as a super league club, but this can't be at the expense of the competition integrity.
The rfl are gutless though, I expect them to bow to the consortiums demands.

they cant.
because this would be unfair and wrong.
you sit back and watch them.
will the RFL put their desire to keep the bulls in SL infront of keeping integrity to the comp?!
i recon they will.

My ceefax says that the bid was "passed [uto[/u" the RFL on Tuesday, not passed "by".
Quite a significant difference.

| I would be surprised in the RFL accepted the ABC offer IN ITS PRESENT FORM, as the RFL cant guarantee the Bulls Super League future. A last minute deal will be struck, but the final terms agreed by both parties wont be public knowledge for a while.

Your right wildshot that is what it now says. However, unless my eyes deceived me (again), when the article was first shown yesterday it said "passed by" the RFL

Yet another error by the BBC on reporting then. Fairly typical of journalists covering our sport. Whether it be the BBC, Sky or some national rag there are often silly errors which a proof reader could rectify prior to publishing. I wonder if the same journalists have an input on the national flags displayed at the Olympics?

| We all know how bad the BBC are at reporting anything Rugby League so why are we so surprised they messed up the "passed to/ passed by".
As for the continuance of Bradford in SL, its in the hands of the RFL board. They will not neded to "overule" a club vote as the clubs will not vote in the first place. The RFL have gauged the reaction of other clubs so that they can decide how much support there will be for whatever they announce. IMHO stuff all this about Bradford history in the game etc......if they cant put together a bid which is a valid application NOW then it should be bye-bye Bradford.

| A thought on recent chatter. RFL debate moving back to P&R and / or 12 team SL. You then ask SL clubs if they want to guarantee Bradford in SL? Maybe some clubs wouldn't be as keen...

| The hard choice, but the right choice I think.
The governing body cant be seen to be held to ransom. If what's happening at Bradford happened again at other clubs, it then means the RFL would need to accept conditions then to be fair.
The hard choice as they could be seen as letting The Bulls cease, but ultimately the right choice.
Just hope Bradford can find another option now. If not I have no doubt that they would achieve large crowds in the Championships and work speedily towards a new SL franchise...hopefully in a better position.

| Should Bradford go down and P&R isn't brought in then it would be 5 years before they could re-enter SL via the 2017 application. That would be the real test of loyalty for their fans and backers.

Whilsts I appreciate that this would indeed be a hard time for the fans of the club, the long term benifit could be invaluable as they could build an better SL bid than most championship clubs and this time on a financially sure footing.

I'd rather have a steady growth, building the right way from the bottom upward and reap the rewards over time than walk along the path the club has the last couple of years..just my opinion.

What do you base this on, bigger gates I suspect, gates that are inflated by £60 season tickets!
Leigh & Halifax have better grounds than Odsal and Fax are on a solid financial footing now!
But the RFL pick who they want based on who they like in their fantasy Franchise system, the same system that waved Bradford through despoite their forthcoming financial meltdown!

| Have to think the RFL have done right here, they cant bow to the pressure of this consortium. Saying no shows they won't be held to ransom and will wait for the right offer or someone probably better than the likely lads thinking they can nick a bargain and own a sports club.
Rugby League will still be here long after the Bradford Bulls seemingly. It's sad but it happens.

Boohoo, Fax fan in RFL cherry picks everything when it was the clubs poor aplication that stopped it succeeding. If I were a Fax fan I'd be more furious that the board didn't take the application seriously enough rather than being mad at the RFL.
However, I think with the fine youth talent that the Bulls have often brought through, with the retention of a few old hand, Bradford would have a great Championship team. This couple with keeping a decent percentage of its fanbase, even just 50% would be a good foundation to build a club.
All this of course is if they get demoted...hopefully this wont be the case.
