| I think we will get the 500k. Caisley has said he will come in only if hood steps down and if they are not on target then Mr hood has no choice.

Most of the time you talk sense mate, but this is harsh. Just because of a few prats on the VT who are Bradford fans doesn't mean that should reflect what you think of an entire club.
The disappearance of Bradford will affect the community as well as Rugby League in so many ways.

| Quote ="mikej"Just a thought.... how much of the "drive" to get cash in is actually a lost cause financially but is actually a tactical attempt to limit any possible liability of the directors. After all, company directors can be held personally liable for a companies debts if they chose to continue trading (eg:- applying for a SL licence for 3 years) if they knoew of financial problems. If they didnt, then a £1m tax bill coming out of the blue would indicate very poor knowledge and therefore a possible breach of their duties under company law.'"
The Bulls don't have very large debts yet. They've run out of cash and would build up large debts if the carried on trading until the end of the season without a cash injection (in the unlikely event that they could obtain credit). But they dont have huge debts now.

| A hypothetical question whilst I wait for the 11.30am announcement. What would happen if the Bulls were unable to complete their fixtures for the season?
As I understand it, the Bulls games that have already been played would be declared null and void and erased from the records. But isn't the situation complicated by the Magic Weekend fixture against Leeds? Effectively all the other clubs would play their 2 fixtures against each other, plus the Magic Weekend game. Wouldn't Leeds end up with one fewer fixture? How would they make that up?

Declare all magic weekend fixtures null and void and just have it as a showcase weekend would be the easiest and fairest way of doing it. The likelihood though is IF Bulls go into administration, the first thing the administrator would do is to try and find a buyer for the rugby team (a bit like what is happening with Rangers in the SPL). If that could be done then Bulls would complete their fixtures but with a stonking big points deduction.

| Bradford will complete the season. If 'lowly' and constant 'crisis club' Wakefield could be saved and bought from administrators, why does anyone think a 'big' club like Bradford wouldn't be?
I still don't get why most seem not to get this!

I think that that's the most likely scenario. On the BBC News Channel before ko, Tanya Arnold (who was at the ground) said that the club had aready had pledges etc. for £350k, so fingers crossed.

I still dont get why most seem not to get that the Bradford's financial cicumstances are completely different to Wakey's!
Wakey used Administration as a means of shaking off a tax bill at the expense of a points deduction. A fairly straightforward decision.
Bradford do have a tax bill, but the fundamental problem is they dont have anywhere near enough cash coming in to pay the players for the rest of the season. An administrator, if appointed, would try to avoid the tax bill. But he would still have to make huge savings to keep going until next season's season ticket money starts to come in. Which would inevitably mean that, once he'd raised what he could from player sales, he'd have to cut the wage bill dramatically. Eventually the club wouldnt be able to put out a team of anything like an acceptable standard.
Unless the Administrator could find a buyer who could fund the club until the end of the season, administration isnt going to be much help.

Well you have to cut your cloth accordingly. I stood/sat through 3 or 4 years of bloody awful Wakefield sides because we were in a CVA and couldn't afford many decent players, hence why the good young ones were sold off for pretty much any offer that came in.
Whether it's a tax bill or a wage bill or the phone bill, if you can't afford to pay it, the problem is the same.
What happens when the next bill comes around Bradford can't pay? I guarantee it will happen.

But why the HELL take it out on Bradford fans? I just looked on the latest "lets knock London" thread on here, and I counted ONE post from a Bulls supporter in 13 pages. ONE. And that was pretty innocuous.
The best way for getting a whole load MORE on your back is by making nasty comments like you did, when you hardly ever read any Bulls fans on the VT wishing London would vanish.'"
Wow, unbelievable over-reaction here. At least one person realised the point of that post. I genuinely hope Bradford pull through, of course I do.

To be fair to Vastman Goaty, he's an embarrassement in general, not just on this particular topic.

I suspect I might have a long wait though.

I dont disagree with you. But its almost impossible to re-order a club's finances, cut your cloth accordingly if you like, in mid season. Players are contracted for the rest of the season. If the Bulls can limp along until the end of the season then they should be able to drastically reduce their costs, even if it has to be in a lower league. But without a substantial cash injection they will not make it until the end of the season.

I cant see them turning Magic Weekend into a series of friendlies. The clubs would rest their senior players, nobody would turn up and they'd probably have to offer refunds to those who had already bought tickets.

It isn't impossible. It is what happened with Wakefield last season as they prepared to enter and then did enter administration (after also making a plea for a monetary bail out to merely keep existing from fans). Wakey shed their contracted players as they went to other clubs and these were replaced by players that were much cheaper (such as youngsters that were surplus to requirements at other clubs). They shed so many in fact that they had to re-do their squad photo. They were left with a squad that struggled to avoid bottom but they also appear to have come out the other side stronger for it as an organisation (and have now replaced most of that hastily assembled squad).
Whilst I am not wishing or suggesting that Bradford enter administration (whatever needs to happen will happen in that regard) what happened to Wakey last season demonstrates that (likely radical) altering of the playing squad can occur mid season to result in a reduction of the wage bill and to allow a post admin club (or one that narrowly avoids administration) to 'cut its cloth' accordingly. The circumstances that have led to this situation at Bradford may be different to what led Wakey to the brink last year but the outcome on the other side may not be all that different.

| Bradford extended pledge deadline til Monday 5pm & will make an announcement Tuesday.
Predictably realised the HMRC aren't going to issue a winding up order on a bank holiday weekend due to the Courts being closed.
Article is on their website now but virtually impossible to get on due to internet traffic

| Can these people ever give an answer that can be believed and trusted.
is it £1m in 2 X £500K chunks then its not
last Sunday Duckett says on radio the tally was £250K and..... then its not
The deadline is 5pm Friday...... then its not
The announcement is half time versus Leeds...then its not
The announcement is saturday 11.30 am....then its not
No doubt there will the apologists for Hood making excuses for this shambles.
Apparently Hood and his chums have a plan for future success.....or maybe not
Bulls fans deserve much more than this.

| I feel sorry for the supporters been taken for a ride by the holding company that is a limited company, why should the supporters give money to the limited company for the company to show it as profit, the money donated was for the club not the limited company, so the limited comapny should either sell the company or go bust.

| Bradford have counted £480k, however apparently they are still counting and with the figure being so close have extended pledges until monday anyway as they do not know if they have £20k left to count.
I am more inclinded to believe we have counted £480k and are hoping £20k gets pledged today.
