| Tom Burgess has impressed me whenever I've seen him this season. He's certainly a big unit and unlike Crabtree, runs to his size. Believe he's still a teenager and could be the next prop to be in the mould of James Graham and become international class in his early twenties.
For the world cup you could probably add LMS and Mossop to those two to give you 4 for the squad. As a Cas fan I'd like to say Huby but having seen his misfortune with injuries over the years I'd be surprised if he was able to put a long enough uninjured run together to realise his undoubted potential.
PS. Not ignoring Sam Burgess, just he seems like a back rower to me. Oh, and another player plagued with injuries.

| I'll be keen to watch Chris Hill at Warrington, I predicted in 2010 he'd be in the England 2013 WC squad, I still believe this.
He's a different kind of prop to battering rams like Morley or Peacock. I'd say he's got hands like Graham, but not the weight, but as quick a prop as i've ever seen.

| Morley won't retire from international RL.,as long as he's being picked he will make himself available... He has actually said this...
I would imagine Peacock has the same attitude...

| Carvell for me is THE prop in Super League, how he is continuously overlooked baffles me. Scott Taylor should be there or thereabouts in 2-3 seasons.

last season Carvell was easily the best 'smashing into the line' prop... He doesnt do the long stints like graham.. but when he is on the pitch he charges that ball in..... you know the legs are not going to stop pumping.
he had some unbelievable games last season for us. I found it bizzare we went into that australian game without him in the 17....Carvell and Graham were the 2 best props in SL last season.

| I found it a little sad the other day with Morley. Watched him for years smashing every Australian and kiwi going week in, week out in the NRL.
He did seem to look slower. Shame really. Quality player, quality person.

probably the greatest prop of his generation.
The way he went to Australia and dominated was amazing.... he has played at such a high standard for so long.

Everyone goes on about prop, but he'd often play for lengthy periods of a game, moving in and out of front and second rows during a game for the Roosters and still smash everyone.
The one thing I recall is his speed in getting down the pitch after a kick off. Have a look at the sending off again and note that he was the first person down the pitch.

type in 'adrian morley big hit on king'... it shows 2 tackles on the run.... he was an absolute animal back then... most fearsome prop in world rugby.

| Can anyone remember Morley ever being a stand out player at international level, smashing the opposition Aussie and Kiwi forwards around?
No... I can't either.
Apart from once getting sent off after 9 seconds which appears to be his only international claim to fame.

I remember his first match against Australia in this country, when he was still a kid. I saw that day what a good player he was. He took the ball up and you could see he was physically hurting them.
The Ozzies know their RL - you can see who they sign - not the flash players that British fans like but Morley, Ellis, Burgess, Graham ie solid players, who do damage. I don't think many fans in this country realised how good Morley was [ubefore[/u he went to Oz.

That was Morley's best ever international performance against Australia and that's why you remember it. At international level, he's not performed as well as that since. Not even close.
And guess how long ago that was?
1997.

I remember it because I had not really seen him much / at all live beforehand and he looked the best, big British RL forward I could remember in a long time. Personally, despite his status and success in Oz, I think he could have been a more exciting player if they'd have coached / used him differently.

| To be honest i dont think morley has done anything wrong.Imo hes had the agression coached out of him.He used to frighten the life out of the aussies years ago with his aggression.Since his arrival home ive only seen the odd bighit like the ones on Hall,Harrison Hanson which he used to do more often back in aus,We need more aggression from mozza thats all hes lacking.
I think mcnamaras selections has to be questioned especially picking the likes of wilkin and giving him plenty of game time ,We have plenty of forawrds better than wilkin,

| Peacock and Morley have been great servants but I hope that this 4N is their swansong.
I really rate Sam Burgess but also worry that his career never develops to the level it should due to injuries. I hope I'm wrong.

Feel free to enlighten me with evidence regarding all those alleged fantastic performances from Morley for his country since 1997 where he has stood out and smashed the Aussie and Kiwi forwards around at international level.

I made the mistake of watching an NRL game featuring him the other day. The difference between the Sydney Morley and Morley now is massive. He's past it.

It's a shame ain't it. I remember him on a kick chase once absolutely smashing the full back who dropped the ball about 5 yards out for someone else to pick it up and score. Everyone went to congratulate Mozza and not the try scorer. Can't remember who it was against though.

No one would ever 'smash' Morley so to speak. He'll be as tough as teak for a good 20 years. At 50 I doubt many players would be able to 'smash' him. But his contribution to games isn't what it was. His impact used to be massive and game changing. I just don't think he's like that anymore. He'll still put the odd big shot in, but his overall contribution is on the wane. Still good enough for SL for a year probably but we shouldn't be including him in the international setup. Peacock we probably should, he's more like Civonoceva for Australia, batters people with attrition rather than physicality.
