Considering that in the space of three months he's gotten rid of pretty much all the deadwood on the playing side of things, decided the coaches all weren't good enough, the facilities weren't good enough and our junior structure was shocking, I'd say he had a knack for recognising and sorting out problems rather quickly!

The signings themselves matter less than getting the whole club structure right and investing in youth in the long term. Get those things right and you'll have both more (and better coached) young players coming through, and the club as a whole will be more attractive to players from elsewhere as well.

Only two of those signings are under the new regime, so matters even less.

I'm not too sure of the Tony Martin signing. But Andy Lynch is a huge signing. There obviously wasn't much going round when Gentle arrived.

I think under a better coaching system, we will hopefully see an improvement from the players we currently have and so won't need to add much to it.

You already had an excellent off field structure, so seeing as Pearson feels he can improve that and completely restructure the playing side then things look good over on The Wrong Side Of The Chocolate River's Tributary.

we have good commercial and marketing structure as well as an excellent community development program but thats about it. the questions of chief exec, public relations, youth development and planning and training facilities all needed urgent attention

I am sure you do matey, I was just amused by the reaction to certain posts that were not positive enough for some people, opinions were asked for, and we all know what they are like.
Personally I think you should have a good season ahead of you, if only due to the change of coach, but also recruitment seems to be much better this year, certainly younger players than have been targeted in recent seasons, and I am impressed by the Lynch signing, Ipicked him out in our games against the Bulls as just the type of player I'd have liked to have seen Rovers go for.

I think you might want to check what I wrote; there's a difference between "one of the best players not to play for Aus" and the "best player not to play for Aus". Infact, if you read my thread properly, I was annoyed at them saying it about them saying it about both Martin and Seymour and I'm sure you'll admit that changing your mind about a player, only weeks after signing him, is bad form for a club.
