| Missing the hype around Chase, I've seen him put in some good set pieces but he's fairly predictable and he bottled the DG attempt which should have seen Cas in the CC final.
It's just Danny Orr all over again; stands out in a bad team but is terrible in a half way decent one.

| So far the poll goes to show how close it is to call. Biased me says Robes, i personally dislike Tomkins but deeply respect him as a rugby player. Chase has carried a poor team into meritocracy almost single-handedly. All deserve the credit, shame for the two that don't win.

I dont remember orr ever being a terrible player, he looked very average at wigan because they tried to use him as a different style of player than he actually was (a bit like how they tried to use moran as an organiser). Leaving wigan was the best thing he could have done as he was allowed to play his natural game again.
Theres also the flip side of the argument would tompkins look as good in say the quins or wakey sides of this year having to get through more defensive work, be under more pressure, have less quality players around him and have less space to operate in? probably not.

Don't forget Roby's steely defense as well, made 1032 tackles, averaging over 40 tackles a game, despite being injured for 25% of the season.

Whose said he's missed any games, he's played about 5 or 6 games with 3 specific injuries we know of. Man of Steel stuff. Stop stalking with triviality.

Unbelievable bias.
I actually wanted Roby to be ahead of Monaghan for MOS because of all the obsessed Wire fans making out like he's Jesus Mk.2, but with some of the posts about Roby from Saints fans, I now wish Monaghan had been in there instead of him.
Let's guess how many scoots Roby does on Saturday, I'll go for 591. Higher or lower?

No bias whatsoever, if you don,t accept averaging nearly 200 metres a game for 5000 metres and averaging 40 tackles a game for 1032 tackles isn,t remarkable, then I don't know what is. Tomkins is the most talented player in Superleague but I dont think he has "the Man of Steel" temperament, character, sportmanship etc. Just think Roby has the right parameters, he dosn,t milk penalties, give the V sign and feign injuries, hopefully Tomkins will mature into a great player and learn to respect the opposition (players and fans).

| I think this is a joke, If Rangi Chase doesnt win the award.
Maybe biased as a Cas Fan. But there is reason
James Roby, Works behind a dominant pack, And albeit, Has been outstanding.
Sam Tomkins is a flashy player, But is no "Steel" man with some of his dramatics this year.
Anyone look at Cas with Chase, And Cas without Chase, We are about 40 points a better side with him. He is that good.
Easily for me, The most skillful player in the competition, And thats the reason Warrington were offering BIG money to take him there.
If he played for Wigan, Wire or St Helens. There wouldnt be any competition

| Roby is very, very good on both sides of the ball. But Sam T has almost been unstoppable this season. Would love to see him in the NRL soon as i think in general SL defences are not very good and he needs a bigger challenge. I think SL for Sam is too easy. And i support Wakefield.

| Lets be honest, all three have been brilliant this year. The votes are so close on this thread you can hardly split them.
I just think all 3 deserve a big pat on the back rather than other fans slating the ones they don't want to win.
No matter what anyone says all three are great to watch, and players like these make our game the best around.

And the one time this season he got put in a pressure position to help his side win a major game in the last minute, remind me how that went again? He choked a straightforward drop goal attempt way off target.
Chase is no less "flashy" than Tomkins IMO, with the exception that Tomkins does it when it counts.
Personally, I'd still have Roby streets ahead of either of them mind, but dismissing Tomkins as you have and then bigging up Chase is simply club bias.

Why? If Leeds win the Grand Final, should Danny McGuire be the MOS?
You can't say the decision is wrong when the decision comes from the players themselves.
