All the knockers of our game should realise why we are behind, it is nothing to do with money or coaching, it is down to participation we simply do not have enough kids playing the game. The southern hemisphere have more kids playing hence the bigger pool of players good enough to fill the ranks of thier top teams (& ours as well) It is not rocket science if we had the the same percentage of kids to population playing the game here we would produce three times the number of top players than Australia could. It is also a cultural thing I remarked to a friend at a game last sunday that probably not one of the British players on the field (Robins v Wakey) had ever played the game other than in organised club games from mini up through the age groups to becoming pro,s. That is about thirty games a year & a couple of nights training a week whereas the Aussies & the rest of the Southern hemisphere will play outside in the parks in make up games (jumpers for goal posts & all that), travel around that part of the world you will see gangs of young people playing touch or kicking a ball around. When was the last time anyone saw a bunch of kis playing a game in the UK?
Having said all that it should still not stop us trying & giving it 100% when we do play them. The fans just need to be realistic about what is going on & give the boys there full support.

I thought Leeds v Wigan in the play offs last year was a better game and easily matched the tempo of yesterdays SoO game. It certainly didn't have Anthony Minichello spilling the ball every couple of minutes. It goes to show what a difference confidence makes.

Somebody else mentioned, the Aussies play a structured game and not off the cuff. When they Aussie national team plays to it's best, they line up all their runners and the half back, normally, has the ability to read what the defence is going to do select the right pass. GB/England are the masters of scooting, and that's about it!!
